“I didn’t want to play punk,” Adi Newton recalled of the motivation for his new band. “I just wanted to use it. To make something more intense, paranoid, and totally out of control. A sort of totalitarian underground music.” Adapted from Daniel Dylan Wray's new book – Groovy, Laidback & Nasty: A History Of Independent Music In Sheffield - The Anarchy of early #ClockDVA. @clockdvaofficial@whiterabbitbks@ddywray . We’re pleased to share the track ‘Einig’ (tr. “concordant”), a dramatic, towering glimpse of what’s to come from hackedepicciotto’s forthcoming album LICHTUNG. You can listen and watch its beautiful video now.
Textured electronics unfold as Alexander and Danielle alternate between lead and harmony with each verse, their voices echoing a shared sense of symbiosis. There’s a stillness at its core, as if everything has quietly found its place.
Taken from LICHTUNG, out 10 July 2026 on limited-edition candy-coloured vinyl, CD and digitally.
Miss Grit’s new album ‘Under My Umbrella’ is out now, available to stream and on CD and limited edition ‘crystal clear’ vinyl.
Written following an intense period of solo touring across North America, the record captures the raw, unrestrained energy of Miss Grit’s live performances. Created largely in Sohn’s apartment, the songs arrived quickly as streams of consciousness, guided by a deliberate resistance to overthinking.
Miss Grit will celebrate the release with shows in New York on 24 April at Nightclub 101, Los Angeles on 2 May at Scribble.
Requiem, the new album by Irmin Schmidt, the co-founder of Can, is out now.
Presented in two sections, the work brings together prepared and unprepared piano with environmental recordings from Schmidt’s home in Southern France, establishing a measured dialogue between human made and natural sound. As he observes, “In nature… I find so much music”.
Requiem is available now digitally, and on vinyl and CD, with signed art cards available from selected stores.
Listen today to Swans new live album Live Rope, streaming now. Recorded live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (2024) and Dan Haag, Netherlands (2023).
You can also preorder the deluxe double CD, arriving June 12.
Ahead of a longer interview to be released tomorrow, here is an excerpt in which Irmin Schmidt explains the choice of title for his new album Requiem, and why it so powerfully echoes the disappearance of nature ⤵️
