excited to announce ‘Paradise Tempo’ , a vinyl only compilation with our friends Universal Cave, distributed by Prime Direct… “Brooklyn duo Fundido team up with Philadelphia friends Universal Cave to press their first physical release titled ‘Paradise Tempo’, a love letter to dance floor music that sits in the cross section of the tougher sounds of the city and the softer sounds of the balearic and the backwoods.” After almost a decade of fundido we are very excited to be pressing our first wax with our boys down the road in Philadelphia. The comp brings back classics like Nicky Stropko’s “Emotional Jungle” edit, offers brand new bits like Universal Cave’s “Charlie’s Vision”, offers a home to our first little original tune “Amor”, and highlights edits from Tucan Discos, Masha Mar, Orion Agassi, Sisserou, and Dirty Dave & Pasternak from our nine years edits comp. Pre-orders are available today on the Universal Cave bandcamp , and the official release date is next Friday August 8th. We only pressed 500 copies, and 400 will soon be floating around shops in Europe… thus only 100 avail for order on Bandcamp (math!) … so act quick before they are gone :) all orders will come with digi dl links too. shoutout dirty dave for first inspiring this idea, and big shoutout to DJ Ray @dj_ray_design_center for reeling in a big fish on this artwork design 🎣 been a long hot summer so take a sip on this bandcamp link in the bio 🍹 thx for the support !!

Today we are proud to announce our first proper reissue, Dance Of ‘De Elder by Del Jones. The 12” is available now from fine dance music retailers everywhere, and you can grab the digi from our Bandcamp. Swipe for a mix of CLIPS + PICS: Clips of remixes by @lildave215 @sweater.dj @pheeels @universalcave @djstreetorchestra & the original version + pics from the original release. Read on for a little background on the record: From the mind of Philadelphia legend Del Jones, the jazz-funk musician and social justice activist behind the psychedelic funk “Positive Vibes” and “The Court Is Closed’ albums, comes a cult anthem finally getting its due. Originally released on CD in 1999, Dance of ‘De Elder is a late-career epic where Jones’ unmistakable vocals and undeniable funk deliver his signature blend of history, justice and Afrocentrism to reinforce his timeless command: “DANCE // RESPECT YOURSELF.” This 12” marks the track’s debut on wax and features five remixes for today’s dancefloors. Lil Dave lifts the song into an uptempo, deep and soulful house jam, Pheels flips the vocals over a heavy, psychedelic and percussive dub, Sweater adds bright, bouncing synths that revive Jones’ chorus as a joyful decree, Universal Cave offer an extended, dubbed out, late night acid excursion, and Street Orchestra dials in a knocking MPC beat mix that could have fit right at home on the original release. When we found a copy of the Dance Of ‘De Elder CD, the title track quickly became a Universal Cave crew anthem that we played every chance we got. Early doors, end of night, looped over party tracks - we couldn’t get enough of it and knew it had to get out to a wider audience. We hope this release helps get Jones’ music and message out to DJs and dancers worldwide. Mastered by @matlefflerschulman

We’ve all experienced that feeling when a song instantly transports us back to the moment we first heard it and became completely hooked. For Linda & Norm, “Moments to Want You” by the Jerry Lillard Band carried the warm vibes of a Parisian summer in 2019. Fast-forward to 2025, they revisited the track with a complete twist, nudging it toward an AOR resurgence for our Soft Rock for Hard Times series. The original version by the Jerry Lillard Band was released in 1981 on a German rock sampler, created in protest against the closure of their rehearsal space in an old school building. “Moments to Want You” stands out for its haunting melody, heartfelt lyrics, and compelling arrangements. Inspired by these elements, Linda & Norm cast the song in a new light, leaning into ’80s-tinged guitar pop à la Trevor Horn, with hints of psych bedroom pop in a distinctly Californian fashion.  Joining the release are two favorite artists of ours, further expanding the song’s potential into dancefloor territory. Sydney’s own @dd.mirage delivers the smoky, dubby disco blend we’ve admired since their debut album, while seasoned producer @vandervolgen brings the B-side magic, echoing the authentic stripped-back dub approach in the vein of Pettibone and Baker. To round it out, an instrumental version, along with an extended mix courtesy of Justin, compliments the release, making it a 12” worth pulling out whenever the moment calls. 12” & digi now available on U Cave’s Bandcamp. EU/UK distro with @rhd_rushhourdistribution . Stateside & rest of the world hit us up for wholesale to shops. Clip 1 - Original Mix Clip 2 - D.D. Soft Rock For Hard Times is proud to bring @dannystrimer ’s almost lost, should-have-been-a-hit “We All Need Someone” to vinyl for the first time. A tale of hitting rock bottom then finding love and redemption penned in collaboration with close friends in the early 80s, recorded in 1982, and unreleased until Danny finally unleashed it in summer 2025. And now available on a glorious limited edition 45 - only 200 copies! Side B features a new take on the tune that started our relationship with Danny, “(Till You’re) Back In My Arms.” After we included the song on Soft Rock For Hard Times Vol. 8, covered it for our second 45, and started a wonderful email correspondence with him, he was inspired to revisit the song and record this beautiful acoustic version in 2024 - 47 years after first releasing it in 1977. The “We All Need Someone” 45 is out today, exclusively for sale on our Bandcamp, or from Danny’s merch table if you catch him playing one of his regular gigs in Nashville. Swipe ➡️ for clips and archival photos 📸 And of course the Bandcamp 🔗 link 🔗 is in our bio. “We All Need Someone” was written by David Skar, Danny Strimer, and William Gelber during a happenstance meeting in Parkersburg, West Virginia, recorded by Victoria Didrikson in New York, and mixed by Philadelphia’s own Sigma Sound Studios alumni John Anthony. Shout out to @bmchombre for encouraging us to reach out!
