🎬 Community Short Film Screening & Artist Q&A - “Sucker”
🎞️Join us for at the Saatchi Gallery Learning Studio for a screening of the new experimental short film, “Sucker”, by artists Ela Portnoy, Marie Schaller and Soo Hahn. Ela and Soo will be giving a Q&A after the screening as well.
🌳The film explores the body in nature. A creature makes its pilgrimage into the woods, and finds its home among the darkening trees. Using sensual sound and visuals, the film follows the creature’s process through pain, grief and eventually, peace.
🏳️⚧️Created by an all-trans creative team, the film is an allegory for trans self-discovery, but is open to different interpretations and hopefully relatable for all audiences.

Struggling for vulnerability, a frustrated dancer begins tearing away the facade of their own identity in Soo Hahn’s hypnotic video for enigmatic alt-electronic outfit Holybones.
The video for What You Talk is set in a stark white studio, where continuous movement and rapid-fire editing obscure the dancer’s features, building suspense throughout. As a blank, mask-like visage is revealed, the tension intensifies — until the dancer begins peeling away the prosthetics.
We are happy to officially introduce What You Talk as an Official Selection of DFP Film Fest.
