Last week we welcomed our first Reignite Residency artists of 2025 into our St Leonards studio. Ruby Antonowicz-Behnan and Yui Yamamoto spent their time developing a new experimental sonic performance, closing with a public sharing and feedback session. Requiem in Progress at @broadworksbyhive 5.2.2025 2.5 hour durational sound piece For @broadworksbyhive we experimented unique ways to evoke and restore memory using archival audio, our conversations, recordings of deceased, water and animals. We manipulate sound textures through diverse playback devices, including digital and analogue monitors, cassette players, radio players, dictaphones, mobile devices. A huge thank you to everyone who visited and experienced the piece with us. **New Deadline: Fri 14 Feb 2025** Ruby and Yui invite artists and makers to present performance and time-based media works @electro_studios_project_space Studios Space in St Leonards-on-sea. We will host a weekend-long exhibition with live performances programmed over three days. This opportunity is to showcase current work to new audiences and strengthen networks and connections of time-based and performance artists. Exhibition Dates: Fri 14th - Sun 16 March 2025 How: Please send us a short proposal (around 100 words is fine!), a little about your self/practice and a small sample image/video/sound to [email protected] Proposals can be for finished or in-progress live performance and time-based media (including but not limited to film, audio and installation works). Reflecting on significant losses of loved ones, @ugly_society_lover and @rubyantonowiczbehnan create a sound performance and installation, 'Requiem in Progress', inviting viewers to consider how grief shapes our understanding of the world and fosters connection.
