Jordan Antonowicz-Behnan is a filmmaker, animator and visual artist based in Hastings. His animated documentary A Taste for Music (2022) has shown widely, including at Animafest Zagreb, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and New Chitose Airport International Festival. I have to say I had a lot of fun making this video, even when record store owners would look at me surprised when I asked for a copy of Paul Young's classic! So early this year @thompson1518 asked me and @lamprini.loukaidi to make a promo music video for the Hastings local Art-Rock and Experimentalist legend @anthony185moore who wrote Paul Young's 'No Parlez' way back when. For this record store day release Anthony has revisited the track with a talented group of local musicians playing as Hastings United. Due to No Parlez's popularity most record diggers will know that No Parlez has become a common find in drift-stores, record shops and charity shops. Thus mine and Lamprini's intention was to reconstruct the classic album cover and give No Parlez a new meaning to coexist with this fabulous new rendition! Shout outs to @djmrthing for the pictures. When words aren’t enough, music says it all. In @jordanbehnan ’s “A Taste for Music” vinyl becomes a vessel for healing and connection with his sick father. Brought to life through hand-drawn animation on recycled record sleeves, this moving short creates a language all its own. #vimeostaffpick

While the “medieval Knievel” meme is now well established, Sunday Afternoon at the Mint House will mark the first attempt to recontextualise the great stuntman’s legacy in the shadow of the castle that was William the Conqueror’s first foothold in England, with a reading from an unpublished memoir by Knievel’s son. @lamprini.loukaidi - an artist from Athens based in London - and animator and film maker @jordanbehnan will contribute an installation which has no connection with high powered motorbikes whatsoever (see still attached). Dostoevsky-inspired keyboard wizard @composervladimirmiller - co-writer of The Grief Opera - will be playing with Hutch Demouilpied as he is in the picture and last but not least for this batch of contributors @resonancefm founding father #edbaxter will be joining @anthony185moore to test the limits of likeness and unlikeness with text and electronics. My film 'Space Cowboy' is now on YouTube! (Link also in bio). /watch?v=vLHdnf6TttA&t=1s This film was originally made for the 'Opposing in Motion' exhibition at Electro Studio Space. Thank you to Robert Sample for lending me his camera which included this (Mini DV tape) footage filmed by an anonymous man. Which myself and Lamprini believe the footage is shot down under in Australia. The film is about recording our planet, solitude and self alienation through a camera. I have assembled the man’s footage and have animated some sections of the film. We don’t know who this man is and neither do we know what his motive for filming is. He obviously isn’t the best cameraman in the world. One thing I found most striking about the footage is how he films, he films a tree like he’s never seen a tree in his life. This has led me to believe that the cameraman in the film is from another planet sent to document life on earth. We never see what the cameraman really looks like, only a discreet mirror reflection and see the cameraman’s shadow. Lamprini is an artist from Athens based in London. Have you ever dreamt of swimming with a jellyfish?  Through spaces in-between sleep and artistic practice over a 2-week collaboration, Lamprini and Jordan started this project from a portrait drawing game and developed through: 1 speed editing session, 3 files exchange, 1 sound library exchange. This project is an experiment on how solitary animation practice can become more social through continuous reactions to each other’s work.
