The day has finally arrived. Our new album “The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World” is out NOW. We really poured ourselves into this one. Several years and a thousand stories led us here; and we’re so happy to have made it through the muck, despite the sleepless nights, the scrapes and scars, and the incredible losses we’ve all endured. Luckily, much like the mighty phoenix born from the ashes of what came before, we were able to rebuild. We were able to lean on one another, as well as the people that we love and trust, and made something that we are all very proud of. We may have made this one for us, but the “us” isn’t limited to just the band. It’s for anyone and everyone who’s been a part of our story. You know who the fuck you are. Can’t believe that 2 records I’ve produced, engineered and mixed have been in Time Square within the last year. Thanks to these bands for having me onboard. #nobigdeal

Can’t believe this was released 20 years ago. I remember this whole story Patrick tells here. I also remember calling Pete after we recorded the first 3 “demos” (that almost a year later went straight onto this record) and telling him “I really think you guys have something real here”. It’s safe to say that producing this record changed my life. It gave me a career that continues to this day. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity and very proud of what we did, not to mention the enormous success the band has since achieved. I still consider Patrick one of the best songwriters and singers I’ve ever worked with. Pete has clearly been an unstoppable visionary/creative force and Joe and Andy were always amazing in and outside the studio. FOB invited me to do another song for them a few years back and it felt like not much had changed other than being able to order whatever we wanted for lunch and dinner. Rolling Stone ranked “Take This To Your Grave” #5 of the best Pop Punk records of all time right after Descendents “Mile Goes to College”(one of my favorites as a kid) and then The FREAKING Ramones “Rocket to Russia”….unreal. Here’s to hoping you guys have another great 20. #falloutboy #tttyg #thankful

We’re proud to share the new single “Shimmy” with you, which is premiering via @tgefm today. This sentimental track was written while in recovery after an illness and surgery. My friends checked in on me and I felt loved. When I was moving around again, I just wanted to dance (poorly) with my people. I switched the narrative up a little bit and made it about checking in on any of your loves ones, “Hey, let’s get out of this room and go dancing. Yeah, we all look ridiculous, but we’re alive.” This one is extra special to me. @rosecrud (beach bunny, motion city soundtrack, fall out boy) mixed it and made it sound like it wasn’t recorded in the basement 🙏 😭 @kjaudio mastered it and made it pop @shutupstephan played the gibson sg and memory man @steadfastrecs and @sweetcheetahpr are the labels releasing the album(s) @dhugdahl did the art for the single

Episode 12 of Their Own Drum is out now! I had the honor of sitting down with music producer Sean O’Keefe (@rosecrud ). The first place I ever saw Sean’s name was written next to the words “produced by” on my favorite album of all time, Fall Out Boy’s 2003 debut record, Take This to Your Grave. Sean played a vital role in not only that record, but an incredible amount of music that changed people’s lives, including my own. It was surreal getting to have this conversation. Sean is a brilliant creative mind and one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet. I can’t wait for you all to hear this one. LINK IN BIO! I’m so excited to share the first single off of @motioncitysoundtrack ‘s newest record in 10 years. “The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World” that’s being released on @epitaphrecords today. It’s called “She Is Afraid”. I had a great pleasure of Producing, Mixing and Engineering this whole album with some of my very favorite musicians. I am immensely proud of the entire record. I have always loved this band since before I knew them and would drive around listening to a burned CD of what would become “I Am The Movie” which will always hold a special place in my heart. I humbly think they made one of my favorite records of their long and incredible career. There are so many people to thank that were involved in this. I hope I don’t leave too many out. The entire staff at @electricalaudio for taking such great care of us. @taylorhales @foxnox @normaphone @jacobcarlsonaudio for being there with me every step of the way and absolutely killing it at every single thing he does, which is basically everything. #notfair @tedjensen_sterling and @sterlingsound for doing an unbelievable job at mastering this. My amazing assistant @nick_pilotta for helping us to keep things moving at all times no matter what. My old friend and incredibly talented @patrickstump for being involved on a song and giving me his encouragement and feedback from the very beginning. @sincereengineer for completely knocking it out of the park on her parts and being a total joy to work with in the studio. (Let’s do more!!!). @brettgurewitz for bringing the perfect amount of guidance, perspective and encouragement, especially as we got closer to finishing. @katersteinberg for her killer background vocals/all her vocal help. @epitaphrecords for having everybody’s back/supporting us. My mgmt @next_wave_mgmt And obviously the entire band @motioncitysoundtrack for trusting me to see this project from beginning to end and bringing me into their incredibly creative and talented circle of music making. Please go check out the song and the amazing video they made to go with it if you have a chance. I’m very excited for more of this to be coming out over the next few months. #mcs

Spitalfield proudly present: Play+Record—the first collection of new songs from the band in a long time. We hope you get a chance to listen & enjoy the jams! And while we made these songs for ourselves, we are who we are because of y’all. Being back together these last couple years has been truly incredible… getting to hangout, perform, and now create again. Saving other news + updates for another post, right now it’s time to celebrate. Share with a friend, add to a playlist, or make plans to come see us play! The ways y’all find to support & push us forward will never be taken for granted. Remembering right now, Mark, TJ, Dan, & Drew PS: Would anyone be interested in a vinyl pressing of this? 🎵 PLAY+RECORD 🎵 Mixed: Sean O’Keefe @rosecrud Engineered: @pendersen at @reelsoundschicago Mastered: Justin Perkins at @mystery_room_mastering Art: @danielswade

Very happy for this fantastic record to be coming out. I’m so excited for everything that @beachbunnymusic has accomplished in such a relatively short amount of time. A true homegrown Chicago band. Congratulations to you guys and thanks for having me produce and mix another one❤️🙌.
