Hitting a wall when it comes to building your business? Maybe it’s time for PLAY. Play is both a relief from serious work and a way to manage it, a way to solve problems your tired brain can’t crack anymore.
On April 9th, we’re welcoming Jill Lipski Cain of @archempathy for our first workshop of the year, “Problem Solvers at Play.” This workshop is for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and creatives who are ready to think outside the box to tackle their next steps.
We’ll give you a tangible method to externalize what’s stuck, loosen it up through play, and walk away with one experiment you’ll actually use. Because you already have what it takes to solve this, you just need play to activate your power!

A brand can be warm, clever, and strategic all at once. That was the whole idea here.
Arch Empathy started with a name that has a little tension built in, a wink to “arch enemy,” flipped into something unexpectedly human. That contrast shaped the identity: empathetic without being too cute, clever without feeling sharp.
The lowercase logotype keeps it approachable, while the rounded geometric forms nod to that warm, analog 80s feel, more tactile and human than cold or overly digital. The snug spacing reinforces connection, and the subtle smile/face hidden in the mark adds just enough warmth without getting literal.
Then the orange-to-pink gradient brings in the energy. Optimism, life, personality.
This is the kind of brand work I LOVE. Smart, intentional design that still feels like a real person.

Arch Empathy’s brand is fully developed and getting ready to meet the world. It’s amazing to see it come to life - in hoodie form! Thanks @liinaco for taking the ingredients and designing it!
Arch Empathy’s “Empathy Field Trip” to Can Can Wonderland sparked joy and quirkiness for us business owners!
This one got us away from screens and plugged into vibrancy.
And we left pondering, “how might we bring joy and delight into our work?”
This amazing group represented a broad range of businesses: software development, interior design, evaluation, strategy, business development, photography and creative, marketing, and real estate.
I took on the challenge last week of shopping each area of the Twin Cities that @unidosmn said to go to. This effort was one way we countered the damage being done by ICE. Here’s my recap!
Monday, Lake Phalen: @hmongvillagemn , $75 - jewelry and beads
Tuesday, Rice Street: @ladeliciousbread , $35 - breakfast and treats to go
Wednesday, University Ave: @tacosito_mpls $30 - dinner to go
Thursday, Brooklyn Park: @urbandripbp $50 - Tshirt
Friday, North Minneapolis: @dancing_bear_chocolate $20 - chocolate truffles and bread
I felt joy and connection, tried new places, pushed myself out of my daily routines and routes, and did more social media posting (probably the hardest part!)
