Just started watching the newest IT for the first time and now I need lights on IN THE FUCKING DAYTIME. This hasn’t happened to me since Gore Verbinski’s remake of The Ring. I’d been avoiding the film for stupid reasons, mainly because I was fucking psyched that Cary Joji Fukunaga was going to direct it.
@joshuaallencain ’s brother
@jessedcain (dude has either worked on in some capacity and/or directed like half of our music videos) was going to work on it, and then it fell apart at the last minute. I have no idea what it would have been like but CJF has not made a film I didn’t like. So I know it would have been fucking brilliant. Yeah, stupid selfish reason to avoid it for so long. Especially since I remember the week I read it at age 12 when my family went north to Gull Lake in the summer of ‘88. The word “week” should tell you how great I was at making friends back then, especially considering the thickness of that book.
@stephenking fucked me up as a kid, and cannot thank him enough. Fell off the SK wagon as a teenager when I discovered the novels for The Silence of the Lambs and Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (what a bizarre combo) in my first year of high school. I then found my way into pulp fiction novels, primarily Elmore Leonard, and consumed them with ardent ferocity. It was only recently after I got a screener for the first season of Mr. Mercedes from
@sagaftra that I went and read that entire series, falling in love with the character of Holly Gibney (played by
@mejustinelupe in the 3 season television series and
@cynthiaerivo in The Outsider miniseries). I then talked to my wife’s uncle Jim who has read every SK book several times over. I believe he even met him and vouched for the fact that he is rad as fuck, although don’t quote me on that as my mind tends to blur information and time. Anyway, Jim has convinced me to start from the beginning and read every book, so that’s exactly what I’m doing. What the hell was I talking about again? Oh, yeah. IT remains the ultimate stuff of nightmares. Fuck You, Stephen King. 😘
(that is not my hand - I grabbed that from the internet)
*edit - I NEVER WANT TO MEET BILL SKARSGÅRD, EVER. I MEAN, JESUS HELL, MAN.
