Presenting at the Kleban award ceremony put me in a different head space. “LYRICS FIRST,” I thought. Focusing on every word @jonathanraviv beautifully uttered got me out of my own playing head. I was transported by his performance. I will never forget this moment. Now I anxiously await being in the room with him and the rest of my fam as we start our Salaam Medina: Tales of a Halfghan workshop @phnyc next week! 🥰
There’s a reason @rona_siddiqui is out here winning every award. Find me a composer who tells a story like her, who can go from humor to heartfelt in a matter of measures so perfectly. It was an honor to celebrate her at the Kleban Awards and sing this favorite, “Om Shanti.”

I don’t know whose idea it was to let me host the Larson Award Ceremony this year, but I’m sure glad they did! I had the best time getting to celebrate 5 incredible writing teams/composers and reminding myself just how awesome it is to be a part of this Larson legacy. 🎶
