Have to look a little hard and a little mean outside the theater event because once inside the jig is up and I am 13 years old on the bus listening to bootl*gs through my wired earbuds perhaps on occasion even splitting them w a friend who understands. I love off-Broadway I have been one of its biggest fans ever since my early Wicked obsession led me to the See What I Wanna See cast album it was an honor to see my name near Judy Kuhn’s and not on a restraining order filed against me for blowing past the legally normal amount of times to watch the Rags tony performance. I am making my aim away message “just navigating firm and level ground has power to astound” and nobody can stop me !!!!!! This is my first substack ❤️
Today is my birthday and last night I had a party where everybody gave me the gift of indulging my delusions with applause
or by doing my hair @incraigible_hair
or running (and AUGMENTING) a powerpoint I finished in a cab on the way to sound check like the NAVY @slothlevine
or doing Susan Hayward PROUD @rorypelsue (who was NOT a plant JUST a scholar)
or playing the hell out of the guitar @owenchenmusic or bass @arom4ce or drums @jordanrosedrums
or heroically arranging conducting virtuosoing on piano in every imaginable genre @dg_wes
or by documenting the whole thing so I can show my niece someday @sylviethecamera
I have copious notes for myself both on last night and in general but I look forward to implementing them over the next year I love being alive and I LOVE the girl reading this
