Me and Queen Latifah in Newark’s Harriet Tubman Square! I am so proud and honored to have written the audio component of the new Harriet Tubman monument, "Shadow of a Face, which celebrates Tubman's life and legacy and Newark's contributions to Black liberation. Designed by artist and architect Nina Cooke John, the monument will be the centerpiece of a community gathering space in Newark's recently renamed Harriet Tubman Square. And we’re raising money for our shows going up late February through mid-March in the East Village. There are working class artists, like me, Mona (@monamansourplays ), Vickie (@ramirev ) and the actors, designers, and crew members we’re working with. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (@nycmayor )was talking about the barrier for audiences to see theater in the city. I would add that there are also a lot of barriers to making theater in the city. Some highlights from the Tinsel Trail in Huntsville, AL! Merry Christmas!

I started writing the pilot for my podcast idea, The Haunting of Dr. Roth, a while ago. It’s about the bodily autonomy of women in a very near future where women are in a caste system. There is of course a group of revolutionaries! The main character, Sophia Maxwell, is place in a medically induced coma from which she haunts her enemy, the titular Dr. Roth. The podcast industry isn’t the Wild West it once was. More companies are doing podcasts around established intellectual property. Maybe I’ll raise the money and produce it myself one day with actors.
