Some memories from my second week in Rajasthan: from Bikaner to the Blur City of Jodhpur to Udaipur, the lake city and then finally to the desert fort town of Jaisalmer. Had such a great time, met some amazing people and ate like a king..!!!
Some memories of my first week in India , in Delhi and the northern part of Rajasthan: Jaipur, Shekhawati and Bikaner. Itâs been a few years since I was last here but the magic is still there for me, iâve loved it !!đŽđł
Heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our friend and colleague Nick Williams, who passed away at home on 21st December, after bravely battling cancer since March.
Nick was part of the heart of Phonica Records for 16 years. From behind the counter to shaping the spirit of the shop, he gave so much of himself to this place and to the community around it. His knowledge, generosity, humour, and passion for music touched countless artists, DJs, customers, and friends from all over the world.
Nick wasnât just a colleague â he was family. The shop wonât feel the same without him, and he will be profoundly missed. My love and condolences go out to dearest Liz and his family.
Rest in peace, Nick. đ Posting this track too as it was a favorite of his , iâve been listening to his epic 4 hour mix he did for us earlier this yearâŚit really is amazing !
Itâs always a big â but enjoyable â task to put together our Best of the Year lists and year-end music roundups. Weâve gathered all the vinyl released this year â albums, singles, reissues, and compilations â compiled from bestsellers, tastemakers, friends, and our own staff picks.
Hereâs my chart â another great year for music. Please check it out by heading to the Phonica website (or via the link in bio) â hopefully youâll discover a real gem.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! đ (Music is Roman Flugel âFlowersâ on Phonica)

We are very honoured to have the legendary Frankfurt producer Roman FlĂźgel return to Phonica Records with his amazing âCooking The Books EPâ, another four track collection of his idiosyncratic leftfield Techno. He last released for us in 2017 with his Black Acid EP and we were so excited to follow that up !!
Roman sets the tone of this release with the quirkily foreboding title track âCooking The Booksâ, all zippy, skittering percussion and deep pulsing basslines. The sneaky off-kilter melody of âSensitive Contactsâ continues the dark and sparse feel of the release, while on the flip âShamelessâ provides the EPâs dancefloor climax while retaining its bleak, ominous theme. Finally, the clouds disperse and the tension melts away with gorgeous introspective ender âFlowersâ. Thank you Roman âĽď¸
It may be one of the most visited places on Earth but when you escape the crowds, thereâs not many cities to rival Venice. Add the music biennale curated by @cat_barbieri , a great crew brought together by Carin, my dear friend @dexter_lx , @teamy.teamy@kaitlyndavies , stunning weather , seafood linguini , excellent music from @clinicalpoetics@musex1@adamtendler@bendikgiske@rtoral333 âĽď¸âĽď¸ and it was an amazing week! huge thanks to @dexter_lx and carin x
