UK Minimal - A wigged out roller that takes you deeper and deeper into the maze, late night grooves for those ready to dive in head first. This is the lead track from UK Minimal Vol.1, out now on Nothing Stays The Same.
Introducing the debut release on Nothing Stays The Same, ‘UK Minimal’ Vol.1. A six-track EP that focuses on UK grooves, less hands-in-the-air, more heads-down, raw and rolling tracks geared for dark rooms and big systems. The last year has been incredible for me musically, I’ve been really focusing on building up Nothing Stays The Same, with some amazing parties and incredible selectors, now I’m so ready to get the music out there and to push on. The first track ‘London Flavour’ is out today and the full EP lands on October 17th via digi with double vinyl landing just after, pre-order live for that now. Love to everyone who’s come with me on this journey so far, steady moving, steady away.
SLAPFUNK PRESENTS: MELLA DEE – STEADY MOVIN’
The Anglo-Dutch connection stays strong as SlapFunk welcomes Yorkshire’s own Mella Dee to the family! After tearing up the dance floor at our parties, it was only right to bring him deeper into the tribe—and he’s delivered a debut EP that’s sure to stay in playlists and record bags for some time.
Built to shake dark sweaty basements as well as ignite those big warehouse raves, this record is pure dance floor weaponry. Blending raw underground energy with fresh sounds that push the SlapFunk style forward. Mella Dee flexes his sonic spectrum, serving up four heavy jams. Choose from a Warp-era inspired banger, paying homage to his Yorkshire roots and early influences . A deep, techy roller packed with a heavyweight Reese bassline.
A driving, techno-infused thumper built for peak-time mayhem & chunky box workout with a fat square bass line… all designed to get the party popping and the dancers throwing some serious shapes.
SlapFunk and Mella Dee keep the tribe and the vibe alive & kicking with this dynamite debut offering, dressed to impress in our trademark artwork. Get on it.

Mella Dee for RUIDO SOUND
Over a decade into his career, Doncaster-born, London-based, Ryan Aitchison aka Mella Dee is treading a new path. 2025 was a cementing year into the Nothing Stays The Same universe, pairing a release on the infamous dutch outfit SlapFunk Records and the launch of ‘UK Minimal’, a 2-volume series enveloping a deeper approach to his productions on NSTS.
“All the artists I love always changed and evolved and were willing to rip things up and start again,” he says. “Look how much Andrew Weatherall changed and evolved for example. And then parties I love like Bugged Out! Or Neighbourhood are all about community over ego and I find that really inspiring.”
Rekindling his passion for electronic music on the dancefloor at clubs like FOLD, BRET and festivals including Love International, Houghton, Gottwood and BLOCK9 at Glastonbury, after a period where he felt like he was ‘going through the motions’, he knew it was time to start something new. With his Warehouse Music imprint on ice and all focus locked on this new era, Nothing Stays The Same was born, launching at Glastonbury 2024 followed by a series of sold out takeovers at Pikes, Ibiza and around the UK and Ireland featuring DJs including Saoirse, Gene on Earth, Amaliah, Ivan Smagghe, Fumiya Tanaka & BASHKKA.

RUIDO SOUND®
It’s been two years since I launched @nothingstaysthesame___ and it’s been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in a musical sense. Tearing everything down to grow it back up, with my vision at the forefront, destroy and rebuild without compromise. We’re always moving forward, more music, more events, more collaboration, more art, more spanglecore, more tech house, more life. To everyone who’s come with me so far, onwards.
A glowing beacon of light shining through the darkness for a moment. Breaking through the twisted depths of the deepest, darkest sounds with an uplifting moment of contagious house.
THAT’S NOT SPANGLECORE
THAT’S HOUSE MUSIC
Rolling chunky grooves, a heavyweight bassline and a melancholic tone to carry you through for another 12 hours, locked on the dancefloor.
New music. Soon 🔜 via Nothing Stays The Same.
Now That’s What I Call Spanglecore!
Rhythms, basslines and bleeps that push into the darker corners of the tech house universe. Music from the outer edges, sounds to transcend time and space.
Spanglecore is the search for a deeper sound, the pursuit of something to elevate your state of mind, sonics from the future brought into the moment.
‘Now That’s What I Call Spanglecore!’ will be released via @gradientldn on May 28th, preorders are live now. We’ll be celebrating the Spanglecore soundscape with a release party on Friday 8th May. Tickets via RA and the usual places.
@pikesibiza is a space that I have a long history with, it’s developed to feel like a home on the island for me over the years.
Intimate, unique and energetic, a real adventure every time you step foot in those hallowed grounds, there’s always another story to be made each visit.
The energy inside Freddies is contagious, a space that’s all about the fundamentals of a good dancefloor: Sweaty and intense in the best possible way, all about the music and connecting with the dancefloor.
Coming back this year with Nothing Stays The Same on Sunday May 10th and to have @bashkka alongside for the first party of 2026 is an honour. Such an incredible DJ and producer, I’m drawn to watching her control a space with so much authority.
Her set at @club.raum in Amsterdam last year was an awe inspiring session of powerhouse club music aimed directly at the dancefloor, so it’s a pleasure to have her with me at Pikes. Free guestlist now live via Pikes website.
Vamos
Dance music to make the body move not the metrics, coming direct from the soul to the people on the floor.
The raw unfiltered sound, ruff beats, heavyweight bass-lines and the funk that money can’t buy.
Buy Records. Play Records.
Mella’s musings on the music. I want to start sharing my thoughts more regularly around the scene and how I feel about it. Straight from the dome, out into the world. It’s no secret, my resurgence of love for vinyl so I wanted to get into it in a bit more detail. Hold tight the big bits of plastic. Vinyl will never die 🖤

Our interview with Mella Dee is out now. Comment GO and we will send you the link to watch it in full or check out in our channel!
This interview meant a lot to me personally, because of how directly a few things Mella Dee said connected to my own experience.
The first was his take on perfection. As he puts it, perfection is imperfect. Every artist battles this at some point, questioning whether a piece of work is ready to go out into the world. His answer is straightforward: do not be precious about it. Not everything will be a masterpiece, and you will be judged regardless. The only way through is to put the work out.
The second was how consistently he came back to the idea of creating for yourself. Not chasing big stages at the cost of your own identity. His career is proof that you can build something real without sacrificing your sound or your taste. It is easy to get pulled into the loop of trends and validation, and it is good to be reminded to trust your own direction.
The third was his emphasis on studying the past. Being a student of music history in a world that moves this fast can feel pointless, but it is one of the most useful things you can invest time in. UK dance music culture alone is deep enough to spend years in. Immersing yourself in different sounds and roots shapes your own in ways you cannot always predict.
Anyways, I’ll let you all dig into this interview and get inspired by it. There is loads of cool stuff in this one, don’t miss it.
Have a great day!
