April 23, 2026 | Opening night on Broadway— @rockyhorrorbway Be still, my freaky little queer heart!!! Last night was an evening of absolutely ridiculous fun, heart, rock ‘n’ roll, and QUEER JOY! I am so deeply proud to be part of this community and even more proud to celebrate the highly nuanced, brilliantly stylized, and f*ckin’ SEXY work of my dear iconic friends—@annjamesintimacy (intimacy coordinator), @saboralbee (hair and wig supervisor), and the genius himself— @pamstinkleton (director). Of course, it wouldn’t be a night out on Broadway without running into cherished friends and collaborators (#christopherashley @iamkennyleon @gimbalator @wearenoisemaker ), iconic @cmudrama alumni (@theebillyporter @heyheyandyk ), and my sis-from-another-miss ANNA WINTOUR. It would be remiss of me not to acknowledge and honor that The Rocky Horror Show and its film adaptation have been such a formative part of my journey as an artist and human being. This piece show made the insecure and unsure queer teen version of myself feel seen, validated, and a little less weird. It is also not lost on me that last night’s performance was at Studio54, where I made my Broadway debut 22 years ago. It was a beautiful evening and truly uplifting & validating on so many levels. The 77th Annual @thetonyawards 2024: Wow. Last night was absolutely inspiring and thrilling. My heart exploded as we gathered as a community of theatre makers to celebrate the work of so many friends, collaborators, current clients, former students, @cmudrama alumni, and brilliant artists. I have found myself reflecting on @therealkecialewis ’s heartfelt speech after outlining the struggles/ triumphs of her 40-year career on Broadway and winning her 1st Tony Award last night: “Don’t. Give. Up.” These words are so special to those of us who still dare to dream. I am so grateful to be a theatre artist & educator. I am grateful to my colleagues throughout the industry and in academia for their friendship, artistry, and support of one another. I am most grateful to be a small part of this beautiful community. A quick reality check in a quiet moment: This morning, I was at @openjarstudios rehearsing a new musical by @alanthemusical @michaelweinermusic @thomaspatricklennon —music supervising alongside @iamkennyleon (director) and @fatima_noir (choreographer). Truly some of my favorite collaborators and most extraordinary artists. Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, @city_theatre just had its first preview of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH—to a SOLD OUT house. I’m music supervising that as well, alongside my conjoined twin / brilliant director @robearamirez and the incomparable @benbroskiii (music director), starring the endlessly electric @wowitstreasure & @theoallyn . At the same time, @centerfornewwork —where I serve as Co-Artistic Director—is launching our inaugural IMPULSE FESTIVAL this week in Pittsburgh. We’re featuring work from an incredible lineup of artists including @wearenoisemaker @nikkilynette @tjwritesgood @hhoneyshep @leatalent @jcspells @aclunes —brought to life by my ride-or-die partners @brannon.bowers (Co-Artistic Director) & @a.hanson1 (Associate Producer). I’m currently flying somewhere over the country, en route to Los Angeles to represent @cmudrama as Chair of the Acting/ Music Theater Program and present the Class of 2026 Actors’ Showcase— starring the most promising & creative rising talent in America and directed by the ICONIC @lisaveltensmith . The truth? These past few months, I’ve felt stretched thin. Overwhelmed. At times, like I was falling short. But in this quiet moment on this plane, I’m reminded: I’ve built a professional life that a younger version of me couldn’t have imagined. And that… means everything.
