We’re excited to share that the Gregory Bateson Building has received a 2026 Preservation Design Award from the @capreservation
RHAA served as the landscape architectural consultant on this project, which holds a special place for us as California’s first state-run progressive design-build project. Our work focused on restoring cohesion between the building and its surrounding plazas and creating outdoor spaces for building occupants to use and enjoy. Congratulations to @perkinswillsf for Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind being named an AIA San Francisco 2026 Design Awards Finalist! We were proud to be a part of this special project.
During the 2017 Napa wildfires, half of the structures at Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind were destroyed and over 700 trees were lost. Founded in 1950 by blind leader Rose Resnick, Enchanted Hills was the first camp for the blind west of the Mississippi. It has enabled blind children and families to explore, have a connection to community, thrive and gain confidence. Link in bio to learn more! #rhaa #aiasf

The Hearn Community Hub is taking shape in Santa Rosa, and we’re proud to be part of the team helping design its outdoor spaces! This 6-acre project, a partnership between the City of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County Library, brings a new library and fire station to an underserved neighborhood, along with a variety of community-centered landscapes. From a central lawn for gatherings and events to a children’s interpretive garden, a food truck area, outdoor reading spaces, and a multi-use path extension, the site is designed to foster connection, learning, and public life. #rhaa #landscapearchitecture

A first look at the new outdoor café patio at @sutterhealth Summit Hospital in Oakland! Once a facilities yard, the space has been transformed into a welcoming outdoor respite for staff and visitors to step outside and recharge, right off the hospital cafeteria. Construction is underway for Phase 2 of Dunphy Park in Sausalito! This next phase focuses on shoreline restoration and creating a thriving native habitat. Native shoreline and upland plants are being reintroduced to build a dynamic, resilient bay edge.
