We love working with Naomi Rosenberg, tactile graphics expert at @lighthouse_sf , to think deeply about what true access to books can look like.
Braille and tactile graphics do more than make books readable. They open the door for children to explore, understand, and connect with stories through touch.
As Naomi reminds us, access matters. Not all blind readers use braille, but making it available ensures that those who rely on it can read and learn. And when tactile design is done well, it can enhance the experience for many kinds of readers.
That is why the print version of our all-in-one book, Dopamine, includes both braille and tactile illustrations, so more children can learn about their bodies in ways that work for them.
We are grateful to Naomi and the team at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired SF for their expertise and partnership in bringing tactile and braille elements into Hormones Under Your Hood.
