-Gaffer’s Personal Statement-

Project Diffusion-free
As a fan of movies made before the invention of soft boxes, the directionality of a lighting weighs more than motivation to me sometimes. I'm lucky to have project Let Us Out written directed by @chris.a to justify the concept.
Using 4 @kinoflolightingsystems Freestyle, they hit the sweet spot of punchiness and softness. I'm glad to have our talented gaffer @jules.h13 early in the conversation to carry out the formidable idea of not using a single diff. Being the absolute backbone of the production, he had overcome unbelievable hardships to achieve the vision. Also shout out to @mark_belcher who inpired me this simpler plan than big soft boxes.
The other scene in the studio we mainly keyed with only 2 Par Cans. I got the inspiration from Mr. David Mullen @mdmullen1 , who always talked about back-lighting with Par Cans in my favorite show The Marvelous Ms. Maisel. We were all amazed by its unique quality than fresnels.

Some thoughts on the CMY coloring method I've been testing:
1. Massive pixelation, hence reduced resolution and heavy chromatic aberration on the edge of subjects, often seen in old lenses.
2. Highlight was significantly lifted, whereas general luminance stayed less affected.
3. Significant Magenta dye in lowlight areas, then transitions into yellow dye.
4. What I really like is now the colors on Primary Wheels would affect the image only in a finer fashion
