this weekend, we wrapped on Midnight Brew, my (@ella.koenig )’s junior thesis film. this past month has been a whirlwind of scouting, shotlisting, scheduling, casting, organizing, permiting, fundraising, boatloads of stress and fear and nonstop preparation for this film. at the other end of the storm, i can tell you it was all worth it. this weekend was unbelievably special to me. the amount of sheer talent and energy this incredible cast and crew brought to set was astounding. i have never felt more prepared, more supported, more encouraged, or more creatively fulfilled than i did on MNB. i cannot even begin to extend all my gratitude to everyone who helped me create something so special. if you’ve supported me and this team in any way: THANK YOU! from the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️. I am so excited to share the fundraising campaign for my junior thesis film: Midnight Brew! Midnight Brew is a story about a waitress named Zara. She is underpaid and overworked, balancing exhaustion, motherhood, and the emotional toll of her wife being deployed overseas. All she wants is to finish her shift and get home to her young daughter. But there’s one problem— she just can’t get the last customer to leave. Midnight Brew is a satirical dark comedy about the invisible emotional labor of service workers and the way society mistreats them. It gives Zara the chance to do what we can’t do in real life— to fight back. To make this film a reality, we need to raise $3,745. Production Design for Broken Record with the greatest ever @ella.infocus !! After 8 months of painstaking design, strapping 26 people to a chair and watching as they pretend to be psychologically tortured, very slowly destroying a record with paper scissors to exactly match broken glass, and getting fake blood under my fingernails for probably the rest of time, my heart is so full.
