Stills from Never the One, directed by Haley Bri Powell! Always the best time working with Haley, especially on such a personal project and our biggest one yet. This shoot was definitely challenging, but flying Savion out and reuniting the groupchat made it go smooth. This project required the most prep I’ve ever done. With eight different locations in three days, each with unique lighting environments, definitely made me nervous, but Thomas, Faith and the rest of the incredible G&E team made it happen. So grateful to be doing what I love with friends. I feel so lucky to be able to make art with such amazing people. Stills from Crosshairs, shot back in January. First time working with such a writer/producer that wasn’t the director, Hannah guided and supported the entire production making every issue feel small. Always great to work again with Savion, not having to produce isolated the role of the director in a way that seemed to be freeing, we didn’t have to talk about money or any of the annoying things, just creative. Camera and lighting teams killed it as per usual. First time shooting a driving scene, club scene, and also spending an entire day in an easy rig. So lucky to get to work with such talented, hardworking, and kind people. Long overdue post with some stills from “Untapped,” directed by Haley Powell! Haley was one of the first people I met at LMU and the only other film major/dancer besides me. After lots of dance videos and smaller projects, working together on her junior thesis, a dance film, was only right. Growing up watching dance videos from T-milly to ABDC, we’ve definitely seen every possible way to film dance. We ended up decided to start with a static camera and long lenses, and throughout the film progressing to ultra wide lenses with fast gimbal movement. Also, for this film we built my first #over head soft box. Some stills from MINIFIG, directed by Tapio Tokunaga. It’s an understatement to say that shooting this film was an honor. To be entrusted to help bring to life such a deeply personal story was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life so far. On top of that, to have such an insanely stacked crew full of friends make a movie about legos (and some other things) was just so much fun.
