(free talk) IN SESSION: Networking in Animation
11th March 2026 | Live online | 4pm GMT
Networking is something that creatives are always told to do but it can seem intimidating and unrealistically hard to people entering the professional space.
Networking in Animation is a conversation about how to approach this potentially scary career skill; breaking it down, talking about barriers and discussing the best ways to approach it in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
In this conversation, Samantha Moore (Head of Programme, Animation MA) and Bunny Schendler (Introduction to Animation: Contexts and Process Course Leader), will speak with recent Animation RCA graduate Nour Khamis (Road Rage) and Animator and Director Louis Hudson (Dice Productions) about how they have built thriving communities and how these have developed into great opportunities in the world of animation.

IN SESSION: Exploring FUSE - A Revolution in Visual Languages
4 March 2026 | Live online | 4pm GMT
Building on last year’s IN SESSION: Typographic Abstraction, which interrogated the shift from semantics to spectacle, this session looks back at a primary catalyst of this evolution: FUSE, Neville Brody and Jon Wozencroft’s experimental publication on fonts and typography.
In this conversation, Adrian Shaughnessy (RCA Typography course leader) and Neville Brody (RCA Professor and Design Without Masterclass course leader) will explore the historical significance of FUSE and its role in pioneering the careers of many of today’s leading graphic designers.

📚 The Café at the Edge of the Woods by our 2010 MA Animation (@rcaanimation ) graduate, @mikeyplease was the winner of this year's @waterstones Children's Book Prize!
Beautifully illustrated and told in immersive rhymes, Mikey's book is a playful story about following your dreams, curious food and magical creatures. It was inspired by a family game Mikey played with his wife and son during lockdown.
“The story grew from a game my wife, son and I would play during lockdown. Jess would pretend to be a pompous chef, my son Axel would play the downtrodden waiter, and I would pretend to be a demanding customer. The dynamic of these three characters was so rich, the setting so loaded with potential, and the opportunity to showcase my long-practised and long-underappreciated art of rearranging food to look funny, made the story impossible to resist.”
