What a beautiful experience — living inside of a dream.
I’m over the moon to have been rocking with The Roots as the house band for the Kevin Hart Roast, which was filmed for Netflix Is A Joke. The night was electric, provocative, and unforgettable, to say the least.
What inspired me most was seeing comedians with different viewpoints give each other the space to simply be themselves while they ripped Into each other. In a world that can feel so divided, that kind of energy felt powerful.
Thank you to The Roots and Kevin Hart for gifting me an experience of a lifetime.

Back in 2019, after breaking my wrist, I came across a YouTube clip of Yuja. That moment lit a fire in me—to commit to rehabilitation and fight my way back to playing formal music again.
Yuja, your fearless artistry, unmistakable style, and willingness to push into the unknown continue to inspire and look at how Leonard Bernstein is in the background.
