Last week, Qween Jean received two Tony Award nominations: Best Costume Design of a Musical for Cats: The Jellicle Ball and Best Costume Design of a Play for Liberation. Also, last week, she won a 2026 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Costume Design for Saturday Church and received a Special Citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. She is also a Dorian Award Nominee for LGBTQ Theater Artist of the season!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Qween Jean founded Black Trans Liberation, an organization that provides fellowship, food, groceries, and housing resources for the transgender and gender nonconforming community. In the process of weekly fellowship, Black Trans Liberation feeds approximately 15,000 people a year.

This week I joined advocates and other candidates for office to slam the SCOTUS ruling in favor of conversion therapy.
As a social worker and former therapist, I have seen its harms, which is why we banned it in NY in 2019. It is dangerous and unscientific.
We must protect our LGBTQ youth in NY.
