Welcoming leaders into our space to better understand community needs.
On April 8, Apicha CHC hosted Assembly Member Larinda Hooks and her staff for a tour of our Federally Qualified Health Center in Jackson Heights, Queens.
During the visit, she connected with our team to learn more about the needs of her constituents, including dental, pediatric, OB/GYN, and primary care services.
She also had the opportunity to speak directly with staff about our ongoing programs, including HIV/STI prevention education, case management, talk therapy (offered in English & Spanish), and health insurance enrollment.
Apicha CHC currently provides care to over 900 of her constituents, including residents of Corona, LeFrak City, East Elmhurst, and Rego Park.
It was a meaningful and productive visit, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen access to care for the communities we serve.

SNAP updates you should know.
On July 4, 2025, Congress passed HR1, introducing changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as food stamps. These updates went into effect on March 1, 2026.
SNAP helps individuals and families afford groceries and access nutritious food: an important part of overall health and well-being.
Apicha CHC’s new fact sheet, “SNAP Changes 2026,” highlights key updates, including eligibility changes and Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) rules.
