Last week, Qween Jean received two Tony Award nominations: Best Costume Design of a Musical for Cats: The Jellicle Ball and Best Costume Design of a Play for Liberation. Also, last week, she won a 2026 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Costume Design for Saturday Church and received a Special Citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. Qween Jean founded Black Trans Liberation, an organization that provides fellowship, food, groceries, and housing resources for the transgender and gender nonconforming community. In the process of weekly fellowship, Black Trans Liberation feeds approximately 15,000 people a year.

We need immediate action from @govkathyhochul , @nycmayor and all our elected officials, NOW!
The Supreme Court is poised to hear Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B. P. J., scheduled for oral arguments on Jan. 13. The court will weigh in on challenges to the constitutionality of laws in Idaho and West Virginia that prohibit transgender women and girls from participating on women’s and girls’ sports teams.
Additionally, the Trans youth across the country are under threat from former Representative @realmarjoriegreene 's Destroy Trans Kids' Lives bill (H.R. 3492). Large Marge's parting shot at America's TGNCNB and LGBTQIA2S+ communities may soon be brought up for a vote in the house. This bill would create laws to imprison tran-affirming doctors who provide lifesaving gender affirming care for Trans youth.
Please come out this Saturday to stand with Trans young people, their families, and their healthcare providers as they face these threats and prepare to stand against the rising tide of ignorance and hatred.
