A congratulations to our own dear Beth Morrison on her well-deserved Honorary Doctorate from Boston Conservatory. Alongside dancer Moses Pendleton, Morrision will be recognized for her “decades of professional achievement and artistic influence in opera” as a “relentless innovator” and “champion of the performing arts.”

And just like that, PROTOTYPE 2026 comes to a close. We’re so grateful to all the artists, creative teams, staff, interns, and audiences who sold out this PROTOTYPE Festival. This year was one for the books — featuring the revival of the absurd masterpiece WHAT TO WEAR, the stunning, celestial HILDEGARD, the intimate, folk-inspired PRECIPICE, the eclectic art salon ART BATH, the immersive cabaret TIERGARTEN, the collective, joyous ALL SING, and the highlight reel that was BMP: SONGBOOK, celebrating 20 years of BMP.
