Every part of the Queen’s Tea Party is intentionally designed to improve guests’ mental health, promote connectivity, generate conversation, and elevate mood at the event and beyond.
For four years, our community partner
@ProperFlower has donated all of the florals at the event and built a tradition our guests look forward to. The arrangements have a direct impact on mood at the Queen’s Tea Party, and our first year, we decided every guest would leave home with them. A little reminder of their experience in community.
Research by Rutgers, Harvard, Massachusetts General Hospital, University of Central Lancashire in England, and the Mizuho Information & Research Institute in Tokyo and more, have shown the scent and visual properties of flowers have immediate, positive psychophysiological benefits.
The research is why Horticulture therapy, or green therapy, is blended into our Queen’s Tea Party, which is a program we provide women in our community to destigmatize mental health and help reduce loneliness and social isolation.
Because we are a young, small nonprofit, this important element of our program is only possible by Melissa Martin and her small business generous donation. Each year, she and her team elevate their contribution and we are honored they will be present again in our fourth year. Their donation has saved us tens of thousands of dollars and impacted hundreds of women who’ve gone home with a little nature therapy.
Research proved the presence of flowers triggers happy emotions, heightens feelings of life satisfaction and affects social behavior in a positive manner far beyond what is normally believed. Taking home flowers from our specific event reminds women of the community they were in, are part of, and can return to when needed.
You are invited to The Queen’s Tea Party 2026, and discover small, implemented elements of this program to encourage your positive mental health and self care.
Ticket sales end April 27, the link is in the bio.
Thank you Melissa Martin and team for the effort, donations, and love you put into our program.
