For Women’s History Month I want to talk about my grandmother Anna Belle. She had to drop out of grade school to help her mom and dad. She lost her husband during the civil rights era and raised 4 children by herself. I think of her life not with sadness but in amazement on how much STRENGTH she had. I remember her stories, cobblers from the peach tree in the backyard. Her sacrifices help to shape me and my sister. Sadly her obstacles were not that long ago and how hard it still is today. She did it all with a smile and told me to never look like what you’ve been through.
