Between 2022 and 2026, Project Giving Back - funded by two anonymous philanthropists - will sponsor over 60 gardens for good causes at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, providing a unique opportunity for the charities to raise awareness and support for their work at the world’s most famous horticultural event. 🌏
After the show, the gardens are relocated to their forever home to be enjoyed by others, planting seeds of change and leaving a lasting legacy for years to come. Will you be visiting any of our gardens at this years RHS Chelsea Flower Show?

We spoke with Alex Farquarson, Director at @tate Britain, who tells us about the garden they are presenting at RHS Chelsea this year. It includes elements from the forthcoming Clore Garden designed by Tom Stuart-Smith for Tate Britain, which will offer a beautiful and inviting new green space for Londoners to be inspired by art amidst a biodiverse haven of plants. 💚

Trussell's Together Garden is all about by the way food banks, and the communities that support them, come together to help people on the lowest incomes. This theme of togetherness is woven throughout the garden’s design - with intersecting paths and shared seating area, but most dramatically in the reciprocal frame structure made from individual timbers interlaced for strength and stability.
To create this centrepiece, the designer @robhardygardens has collaborated with craftsman Marcus Jacka, @nonstandardfurniture . From their studio in the North Yorks National Park, Marcus and his team create handcrafted innovative contemporary designs, using traditional methods. Sustainably sourced timber has been used for the frame (and for the benches, which Marcus and team are also making).
Reciprocal frames hold a structure where each beam leans on the next to create a self-supporting loop that needs no central pillar. This idea of mutual support is the perfect representation of how communities can hold each other up and come together to create a stronger whole.
"Creating the reciprocal frame for the @trusselluk Together Garden has involved teamwork, physics, maths and fine woodworking skills in equal measure - fuelled of course by lots of tea." We can't wait to see it at RHS Chelsea next week! 💚
