Hello RHS Chelsea Flower Show and WOW what an incredible place and supportive build and planting team! Without giving too much away, here are some action shots of myself and @rachelwelford_artist fitting the 28 piece glass installation at The Children's Society Garden designed by @patrick_clarke_landscapes and also funded by @project.giving.back . A big thank you as well to @yorelanddesign and @ayusbotanical on site for making everything run so smoothly We feel so blessed to be working on this project, bringing to life the artworks created by The Children’s Society ‘young creative partners’ during the fused glass and mark making workshop we ran at a Children’s Society youth club in central Bedfordshire It will be incredible for the young people to see the garden themselves where it is relocated to the Central Bedfordshire Council’s Leighton Buzzard Youth Centre, where The Children’s Society Youth Club is based. RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW GLASS CREATION It is getting closer to the opening of RHS Chelsea, with @Patrick_clarke_landscapes already on-site alongside the building team hard at work.  I will be there to install the glass later this week with @rachelwelford_artist . Before we set off I wanted to share some more close-up photos of the 28 piece glass installation created using fused glass, copper wire and mouthblown glass made by @ewalkerglassart at the @blowfish_gallery The Children’s Society Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 garden is designed by @patrick_clarke_landscapes  and co-sponsored by @project.giving.back and @thechildrenssociety . The garden embodies The Children’s Society mission to reach young people early, offering support before challenge escalate into crisis. The entire piece is inspired by fused glass artworks originally made by @thechildrenssociety  ‘Young Creative Partners’ at the fused glass workshop, myself and @rachelwelford_artist hosted with young people based at the charity’s Youth Club Network in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.  Having young people involved with the creative process has made the whole project particularly special and meaningful for us. CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW GLASS CREATION PART SIX: An important part of the glass installation for The Children’s Society Garden at RHS Chelsea 2026 has been the materials. In addition to the various types of fusing glass, copper and silver wire, we have also used mouthblown cylinder sheet glass made by @ewalkerglassart at the @blowfish_gallery in Stourbridge Elliot Walker specifically created mouthblown cylinder glass sheets with patterns and colours inspired by the fused glass artworks originally made by @thechildrenssociety  ‘Young Creative Partners’ at the fused glass workshop, myself and @rachelwelford_artist hosted with young people based at the charity’s Youth Club Network in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Guided by myself and @Rachelwelford_artist , Elliot also created the mouthblown glass to be in keeping with the overall garden concept of @patrick_clarke_landscapes Mouthblown cylinder sheet glass has been produced since medieval times with the most recent large scale glass manufacturing hubs being around Birmingham (Stourbridge) and in Sunderland. Several months ago, myself, @inthewindows , @rachelwelford_artist and @thechildrenssociety held a workshop with a group of young people in Leighton Buzzard. The day was truly inspiring with the young people creating wonderful art works. They then made these formative art works into fused glassworks, which were used by @inthewindows and @rachelwelford_artist to inform the further development of panels of fused glass which will be part of our main avenue garden @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show 2026 supported by @project.giving.back The collaboration with young people and a team of caring and committed creatives is what will bring a unique atmosphere and energy to our garden. A garden which highlights the beauty in imperfection. A garden of hope, safety and connection and a garden which celebrates the beauty found in all young people. I am so grateful for the collaborative creativity and commitment from Matt (@inthewindows ) and Rachel (@rachelwelford_artist ) in working with me on this part of the project.
