NYC Print fair weekend magic ✨ Only had one day to spend in the city visiting both the @ifpda & the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair @powerhouse_arts 😮‍💨 But we did both on Saturday and saw as much as we could and more importantly everyone we needed to. Being a visitor instead of an exhibitor this year helped with making a one day trip possible! Just a grouping of highlights that were in my camera roll after the rollercoaster day in the city🎢 So proud of countless printers, friends and artists. In the second-half of 2025, Problems Printing worked with artist Erick Medel (@erick.medel ) to produce his first collaborative silkscreen print editions, 2 Amigos and 2 Flores (2026). Zero Days Without Problems, illustrated and printed by our resident Printmaker Nick Perry (@nick3am ), chronicles the mishaps, accidents, crashes, and disasters that occurred during the first two years of Problems Printing. Informed by the colors in Medel’s thread paintings, Perry studied the threads in relation to their typical denim substrate in order to reflect a similar color relationship between ink and paper. His work is remarkable and it was a real pleasure having him in the studio. This is his first print and really made some magic! Mixing colors to match his thread palette, while also printing on a dark blue paper, was a great challenge but also a fun puzzle to solve. For our recent print collaboration with Erick Medel, a custom-built drawing machine was created by artist, engineer, and fabricator J.D. Fontanella. The drawing machine produces zig-zag marks akin to the stitch pattern used in Medel’s sewn works. As an entirely novel process to us all, drawing the films for this print was a point of true collaboration.
