In honor of #AAPIHeritageMonth, we’re highlighting our 2025 Creative Residency at The Pocantico Center with composer Younje Cho and filmmaker Renu Savant.
Since 2016, the @composersnow and @asianculturalcouncil residency at Pocantico has paired a composer with an artist drawn from a range of disciplines, who live onsite while developing a performance piece that engages the eyes and ears. The residency culminates in a public work-in-process showing and conversation on process and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Last fall, Younje Cho and Renu Savant created new work inspired by Pocantico’s historic campus and the Hudson Valley landscape. This short documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at their collaboration and creative process.
In April, The Pocantico Center and ArteJuntos/ArtTogether invited local families to the #DRCenter for an afternoon of art, movement, and connection.
A program of @katonahmuseum , ArteJuntos supports new immigrant families and English language learners by fostering early literacy, communication, and critical thinking through art.
Inspired by “Shen Wei: Still/Moving,” a joint exhibition of Pocantico and KMA, families sketched in the gallery, created watercolor nature paintings, and explored movement with special guest @danielfetecuaproductions , a choreographer and former @limondance dancer.
¡Muchas gracias a todas las familias que nos acompañaron!

This spring at Pocantico is all about music and movement.
The season opens with a dance-theater exploration of resistance and liberation with @fulloutfarrish and closes with a bold performance from @ballethispanico showcasing an all-female choreographic lineup. Plus, a poetry workshop inspired by Shen Wei’s “monumental compositions that compel the viewer’s eyes to dance,” on view at the #DRCenter through April 18, and so much more.

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) will award @ada.delpilar the 2025 Pocantico Prize for Visual Artists, including a $25,000 grant and a two-month residency at the @pocanticocenter this fall.
Ada del Pilar Ortiz is a multidisciplinary artist based in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Her life-size prints of buildings and other ornamental features of the vernacular architecture in Puerto Rico explore the meaning of home, the remnants of built space, and relationships with memory. Ortiz’s installations examine how political, social, economic, and domestic transformations of the built environment influence and shape those who pass through it.
Her studio will be open to the public on November 8 as part of the 2025 @riverarts Studio Tour, an inspiring weekend highlighting artists throughout the Hudson Valley river towns. Admission is free, but all visitors must reserve a free timed-entry ticket at the link in our bio.
