The character of Whitney wears this outfit during a press conference in response to Tinder’s 2016 infringement lawsuit against Bumble. Throughout the movie, they used various tones of yellow to convey Bumble as a company and a beacon of light for women. Not only did Whitney pioneer one of the greatest technical companies of this age, but one of the safest places for women on dating apps. They used yellow in Whitney’s times of strength and times of weakness. As always, Lily wears it spectacularly!
This ID has haunted me since this image (one of the first ever for the film) was released. It wasn’t until last week that I managed to find it, albeit without the earrings and blouse. However, good things take time! I’m happy to pass this information on regardless. This is one of Whitney’s most expensive looks, behind the Alex Perry suit she scene or so before this one. Lily also wore more affordable, 2010s style-heavy items as well (J.Crew, Aritzia, Madewell, etc) as Whitney was an up-and-coming entrepreneur.
AS by Denise Focile is a sustainable indie brand, making for the only such representation in Swiped. I believe they also have Southern roots, which may be a callback to Whitney roots in Utah. Either way, I was happy to see such a brand amplified this way and in this respect.
In this look, we see class in the sense that Whitney mostly wore suits and ensembles as opposed to dresses! I love that they included this aspect, showing just how powerful a woman can be when wearing what suits her (pun not intended), such as bright colors! There is no shortness of yellow in this film, and I just adore how they did it tastefully and respectfully!

For arguably the most iconic look in Swiped, Lily wears a head to toe look by Alex Perry. It’s yellow, it’s feminine and suits the character of Whitney.
This burnt yellow is not the bright shade we see in the Bumble logo, but it certainly correlates. Bumble is an app that Whitney launched for female empowerment, and the cooler yellow tone mirrors that. It’s sophisticated and professional, two qualities we see exhibited within the film not just by Whitney but the supporting cast as well. Not only does this look characterize Whitney and the company of Bumble, Lily exudes these same traits. She pulls this look off effortlessly, with yellow perhaps being *that* color for her!

In the promotional poster for Swiped, Lily’s captured wearing this gold blazer by L’AGENCE.
As Lily mentioned in a video feature with Who What Wear in August, she mentioned they turned to a lot of 2000s and 2010s era fashion for Whitney. They focused on varying shades of yellow for Bumble, and while this is certainly gold, it remains a subtle homage to the company. Whitney wears several blazers in the film, but this one is cropped and features six buttons. The others are full length with one button, setting this apart perhaps for the promotional shot it’s featured it.
It’s preppy, feminine and not as bright as the Alice and Olivia jacket Lily wore to the wrap party last summer. Paired with simple gold hoops, a white top and black trousers, she’s the picturesque businesswoman!
