I am over the moon to announce the world premiere of "January on Altadena Drive," a new work for horn and fixed media by @chandadancy . Join us on May 30th at 7:30 PM at the @lunartfestival in Madison, WI, for the debut of this powerful piece.
Chanda describes the work as "a tone poem evoking the experiences of the composer and fellow neighbors during the onset and aftermath of the 2025 Eaton Canyon Fires. Comprised of five continuous parts, the piece combines solo horn with pre-recorded synthesizer, piano, and bespoke sound design."
This project is the culmination of a nearly two-year collaboration, and I am incredibly grateful to the consortium of horn players and supporters who joined me in commissioning this work. It is exciting, emotional, and a joy to perform—I can’t wait to share it with you!
