my favorite moment from Badlands (1973) It’s a really wonderful use of blocking and light to help tell the story, and such a lovely way to describe how it feels to be in love. I think this is my favorite Terrence Malick film. It hasn’t got all of Malick’s bells and whistles yet, but it’s got all the soul. Tak Fujimoto was the dop and did a beautiful job.
