BAIT drops on Prime today. Watch it! Saw the first 3 eps last weekend and will be finishing it off tonight. This job nearly finished me off back in 2024 but, given the critical response, it may just have been worth it. It was also a chance to reacquaint myself with the wonderfully chaotic locations around Wembley, where I grew up. And of course a chance to work with the ridiculously talented (and fellow Wembley fledgling) @rizahmed on a show that is funny, clever, dark, poignant and very, very relevant. The Monkey Has Definitely Landed!
Don't think I've ever worked on anything with this kind of hype prior to release. It seems like an eternity ago but early last year, thanks to the great @christianinealing2018 , I, alongside the phenomenal @johnnyhopkinslocations somehow shut down Regent St for 4 nights to create the iconic backdrop of a scene that Empire has described as 'on a mission to be the most exuberant, most feelgood musical sequence ever'.
Yes, Robbie Williams is portrayed as a monkey. Yes, shooting that scene was incredibly hard (but not impossible). Yes, hearing Rock DJ still hurts my ears. And yes, we had a lot of fun making it happen and I personally cannot wait to see it when it opens in cinemas on the 26/12...
