Coach VFX — a little candy mix of the process Thank you @newland.tv and @marcusibanez for trusting me with this dreamy project 🤍 Our first call took a fun turn when Marcus brought up the idea of shooting the VFX in-cam, which got me really excited! So we flipped it. Moved post into pre-production and built everything backwards. Mattepainted backdrops in NukeX with help from midjourney to create elements we liked. Layered buildings, sand dunes and mountains for each shot. Created 2D projections in 3D-space. Tweaked the pace. Removed and added new parts until it felt right. This is how I prefer using new tech tools as a VFX artist: crafting the ingredients so I have the freedom to bake the cake by hand, rather than generating the whole cake itself. All BG’s were shot on a 7x4m LED-wall in London and Korea. Double setups, casts and crews. Matching lighting, production design, props, SFX and mirrored set builds on both sides of the world to create a seamless place. Such a lovely collab between all departments!!! BEYOND GRAVITY x VFX
 Some VFX frames from the Beyond Gravity film. Around 80% of the shots in the film was brought to life through a blend of AI and VFX, crafted by me using NukeX and various AI tools. Over 350 digital shots were created, each one shaped by the nostalgic, analog aesthetic that @patrick___pichler and I developed through our own film photography. Since we couldn’t travel to all the places we imagined, we had to build them frame by frame, while staying true to the warmth and texture of our analog universe. AI tools: mostly midjourney but also @runwayapp @soraofficial

Prompts written: 5,659 Existential crises throughout the project: 5 Big shoutout to @sakkesoini for your lovely CG satellites that made the shots come alive, and @joakimriss for that final film push that carried it home. Three months of wild prompting, starting from scratch, just to carve out a visual voice that felt like ours 🫂
