Connecting two sides of the Caribbean Sea, OtherNetwork is proud to present ‘Los limites del afuera’ (The Outer Limits), an exhibition guest curated by experimental Colombian arts space @lacasademeira from Barranquilla, opening at @beta_local in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 22. In the ongoing search for a way to record the immaterial, curators @poststendhalism and @mariatropical look to another dimension: a pulse, a lifeline that precedes language as we know it. The exhibition foregrounds the wider Caribbean region as an oscillating territory, articulating the aural as a dimension for communication between humans and spectres. Featuring artworks by @serdelcosmos__ , @awildasterling , @simonvegataller , @coloresmari , @lavulcanizadora and @tony_cruz_pabon . ‘Los limites del afuera’ will be the fifth iteration of OtherNetwork’s experimental curatorial project conceptualised in the form of a relay. The touring exhibition is a project by @ifa.visualarts , contributing to OtherNetwork’s ongoing mission to foster transnational collaboration between independent art spaces. See you there!

As part of our upcoming exhibition ‘Los límites del afuera’, artist @coloresmari launched her radio residency ‘Afuera al aire’ yesterday, together with @el_lobi_ . Entering into dialogue with residents of San Juan, radio became a medium to delve into roots, memories, and ancestors. The artist draws on “nostalgioteca” (nostalgia library), a story-collection methodology developed by María Juliana Soto and the Noís Radio collective in Cali, Colombia. Here, radio acts as a medium to connect time and space through a series of broadcasts that will take place in the days leading up to the opening of the exhibition at Beta–Local. Tune into radiolibre.xyz! Pictures by @ccccccccreuzet . Los límites del afuera is a project by @ifa.visualarts in collaboration with OtherNetwork.

"Under the Same Earth" Call for a site-specific residency MNWAL is a space for critical and aesthetic thinking created within the Palestinian diaspora community in Chile—home to the largest Palestinian diaspora outside the Arab world. Our space is created from a community approach to react collectively to the ongoing Nakba, recognizing the Palestinian catastrophe as one subjected to a comprehensive system of domination that cuts across ecological, cultural, political, territorial, and food-related dimensions. In this second edition of Mnwal, we will work inside this real-estate excavation, six meters deep. The void contained is the result of the removal of nearly 29,000 cubic meters of earth, after five plots were merged for the construction of an unfinished real-estate project. The excavation allows us to rethink the ground, the subsoil, and the ways we inhabit, from a space of reflection on extractivism as an interconnected and planetary phenomenon that triggers different forms of violence. This art residency process will culminate with the opening of the site, from January 21 to 24, 2026. Applications open until December 14, 2025. Organized by: Espacio MNWAL – Palestinian Cultural Center In collaboration with: OtherNetwork and the Wonder Cabinet. Application guidelines and form available at the link in bio. OUR WORD FOR ‘STUDIO’ Exhibition 📅 29 & 30 November 11 am - 2 pm daily 📍 DGI Studio, 264 Fox Street, Jeppestown, Johannesburg Our Word for ‘Studio’ is part of @othernetwork.io Local Events series, which connects artists and independent art spaces through collaborative projects, research, and exhibitions across Africa and beyond. This exhibition brings together Wyssolela Moreira, Minenkulu Ngoyi, and Nathaniel Sheppard III, in collaboration with Samantha Modisenyane, to explore the studio as a site of making, memory, and shared practice. The project reflects on historic African centres of art production and cultural preservation that existed before colonial concepts of the “modern” studio, while also considering the studio today as a space for independence, experimentation, and community. Through a series of video installations, the artists investigate how movement, memory, identity, and material ritual shape artistic expression. Drawing on African cosmologies, decolonial spiritualities, archival reconstruction, and body-place relationships, the works use visual languages of layering, remixing, and reconfiguring images - echoing techniques found in printmaking, collage, and surface-making. Featuring: @wyssolmoreira Unlayered (2019), 02:02 Minenkulu Ngoyi @alphabet_zoo Izinqe (video documentation); Umdgidi… (02:21); Inqe (2025), aerosol, coffee stains & charcoal on paper, 70 × 50 cm Nathaniel Sheppard III @dgi.studio Throne of Thorns, 3:00, video collage #othernetwork @ifa.visualarts

Postulaciones abiertas hasta el 7 de diciembre 2025 Organiza: Espacio MNWAL – Centro de Encuentro Cultural Palestino Colabora: OtherNetwork Bases y formulario de postulación en el link en la bio Consultas: [email protected] _______ "Under the Same Earth" Call for a site-specific residency In this second edition, we will work inside this real-estate excavation, six meters deep. PUERTO RICO | When we talk about independent cultural production, this isn’t limited to galleries and art spaces. Yesterday, OtherNetwork facilitated our very first local production in a cave! With ‘The Esegetic Reading Machine, @_______anamarie invited a circle of players to join her underground for an experimental reading of George Bataille’s ‘Lascaux or the Birth of Art. An audience of intrepid hikers - and some bats - could experience the text being read aloud in a circle, allowing overlapping and divergent meanings to be injected into the discourse. 🦇 In Puerto Rico this week? We’re gearing up towards ‘Los límites del afuera’ opening at @beta_local on Saturday!
