Last winter,
@jacob.callaghan and I were in Japan with a bunch of different friends, skiing pow and generally having a goofy time. He briefly mentioned he wanted to chat about a project so we sat down and brainstormed for over an hour about an idea he was thinking about, one which artfully blends three seemingly unrelated and disparate passions of his into a sort of non-vignette, vignette. Of course it’d be weird for him to direct a film about himself so he asked me if I’d be interested. And I was.
Little did we know at the time that
@alxpalumbo (who Jacob had briefly met towards the end of Alex’s trip in Japan) would be down to DP the project.
This project was bare bones as can be. A real passion project. One which would gave us the ultimate creative freedom. And we were brimming with inspiration. We were full of ideas, each idea inspiring new ones. The process was a unique one and it was a crazy mix of vision and intention, scrappiness, pure luck, and good old fashioned “doing the damn work.” (Would love to share more about the process down the road)
Couldn’t have done it without
@jreynoldsfilms shooting the skiing and coming through with the gimbal game.
Also,
@mylesscameron created a beautiful grade which both translated and elevated our vision.
There’s not much more I can say about the film right now as we’re launching alongside
@seasoneqpt next fall.
