Super excited to present my solo exhibition, Spirit Creek, opening Friday 9/5 and running through October at Lump in Raleigh!
Join me for the opening on first Friday from 6-9 PM. Hopscotch will be going on and there will also be another awesome event, Hopsketch, on the other side of Lump on Friday and Saturday.
Spirit Creek, the vernacular name for an ephemeral stream that runs by my house and whose floodplain I have gathered and worked materials, has served as my studio for nearly four years. Through its seasonal shifts, it has revealed to me the unity of life’s polarities: at times a gentle trickle, at others a threatening flood. My practice has become a way of listening to and learning from this landscape, deepening my understanding of Heraclitus’ enduring truth: everything flows.
Come see this piece and others at @frankgallery from May 20 - July 5, with Carol Retsch-Bogart, Nerys Levy, Linda Prager, and Peter Sack. Opening reception May 23.

check out my new site - link in bio! this one involved a lot of remembering long lost web design knowledge and a heavy dose of vibe-coding. let me know what you think 😌
if there is a cusp, it whelms
if there is a brink, it spills
lambent twist unthreading pulse
spilt hush, calm daunting smoke
unfastening its name
⁖
untitled emanation
carved wood, wax
25” x 6¾” x 1¼”
between the hands a hush of thinking
unraveled color unnames itself
spilling through ribs of somewhere never
the air unbuttons its yesterday
and makes of you a gentle many
thought
touches nothing but
breaks open the world
(your body laughs at its
hunger)

untitled accretion
wood, feather, wheat inflorescence, bone, lighter
13½ x 7½” x 4¼
what is seen
is never whole
the pieces scatter
to reveal a body
too large for the eye
what shape did we forget,
not mine,
not yours
but everything touching

untitled accretion
carved wood, cast aluminum, deer bone, wax
19½” x 5” x 2¾”
silent hands
press against the stone
the weight of time turning rock
into the shape of thought
the edges rip to silence
heart swimming
where the hand could
never reach alone, touching
