@orpheuthewizard moves through a realm suspended between concrete and moss, where rusted fire escapes chime like wind bells and forgotten records hum with dormant spirits.
Shaped by the open-windowed chaos of Amsterdam, a city where stone, water, and sky collide in restless dialogue, His sound is a portal to a world perched on the trembling boundary between the organic and the urban, mirroring the city's raw, ever-shifting architecture while channeling his own timeless, cosmic stillness.
Yet for all his singularity, he is no hermit-wizard. His magic flows through others, nourished by the community around him. Orpheu stands as one of Amsterdam’s vital pillars: a connector, a cultural catalyst, a gardener of scenes.
His mission extends far beyond his own spellcraft, to carve space for voices yet unheard, to create platforms where others may shine. This devotion took shape in the founding of Red Light Radio, a beacon that redefined the city’s underground mythology, and later in his stewardship of Het HEM ,
@oudekerkamsterdam and
@nestruimte musical curation, where he nurtured a thriving ecosystem of artists, ideas, and sonic constellations.
He has also been a vital part of the
@dkmntl and
@rushhourmusic families, further amplifying his impact on Amsterdam's and the world's underground music landscape through music and graphic design.
While so many are drawn toward narrow specialization, his work as a curator celebrates eclecticism and interdisciplinarity, connecting music, performance, and art into a single, living experience that defies boundaries and expectation.
I had the honor of inviting Orpheu back in 2023 for our second Pleasuredome (now
@your_calling__ ) party in Paris, and later sharing the stage with him for
@eternalsunfestival in September.. These experiences revealed not only his extraordinary artistry, but the generous, humble soul through which it flows.
I’m grateful to have him in this special show, and equally delighted to unveil a new visual identity crafted by
@_ines_bk which captures the essence of the show and extends its thread toward each guest 🌱💜
