SATURDAY 2/21: Our favorite small press @figure_bound is launching their new publication with meditation and banjo at @heavenlyrestnyc the Church of the Heavenly Rest at 1085 Fifth Avenue starting at 2:30. @SamuelAlexanderForest ,who runs Figure Bound, is a deep, weird, meditative artist who brings exquisite skill to his work. “A Most Exquisite Corpse” is a lengthy accordion fold publication with 20+ contributors including @babario51 and @jessica_hankey0

Watertown Zine fest is 10/18 from 11am-4pm at the Watertown Free Public Library! Orbis and Figure Bound will be at table 21. #WatertownZineFest, hosted by WFPL, is a day-long celebration of zine culture and DIY publishing. This Sunday, September 14, @interferencearchive is hosting artist and educator Maggie Wong (@memaggiemei ) for an intergenerational program that includes readings, archive browsing, and art making activities centered around the League of Revolutionary Struggle (M-L), a national revolutionary Communist organization active in the 1980s. 🗞️ See the link in @interferencearchive bio for details and to RSVP. 🗞️ The program aims to create a welcoming space for revolutionaries of all ages, but we want to note that the planned activities are best suited for school-age children and adults alike. The program marks the launch of Unity Newspaper, an interdisciplinary project by Maggie that brings together the archives of the League of Revolutionary Struggle (M-L) and oral histories from former League members and their children, including Maggie herself. The publication builds upon the League’s original newspaper and childcare system as a starting point to explore themes of childhood, collective caregiving, and political inheritance. Maggie and allied performers will read from Unity Newspaper, playing different authors that appear in the publication. Attendees will be invited to browse and share findings from Interference Archive’s collection of the League’s pamphlets and newspapers, engage in artmaking activities, snack, tell stories, play, and rehearse for the world we want to build. ☀️Program Schedule☀️ 3:00-4:00pm Open browsing the archive and facilitated artmaking and newspaper activity 4:00-4:30pm Performance of Unity Newspaper 4:30-5:00pm Open group discussion There will be a station for artmaking and snacks throughout the event. Maggie Wong's Unity Newspaper (@memaggiemei ) is launching through a series of readings and workshops for kids in Oakland, Boston, and New York! Copublished with @snake_hair After 33 years, Unity Newspaper is back in print and reimagined! Join us in celebrating Maggie's publication that explores revolutionary struggle through the lens of childhood and collective caregiving, inspired by the League of Revolutionary Struggle 📝✊ This new publication features archival samples from the League's original paper published from 1978-1992, transcribed memories from the children of the League, and new contributions from League members. The launch events will feature table readings and, when possible, will include facilitated workshops for children to create publications. I am proud to be listed on this cover with all these brilliant thinkers, and especially with Benjamin himself, as I share my article on his "Thirteen Theses Against Snobs" (1925), a cryptic text exploring the relationship between artworks and documents. This piece stems from conversations with my father after my visit to Documenta 11 in 2002. Through close reading and translation, I examine Benjamin’s distinctions—artworks as synthetic and meaning-driven, documents as analytical and impact-driven—and their relevance to contemporary documentary practices, especially in the age of AI. I chose to preserve my original interpretation, making the article itself a reflection of Benjamin’s paradox.
