Did you know Stone Circle Bench by Ekene Ijeoma is still on view from Triennial 2025? The artwork, an extension of Ijeoma's ongoing series Black Forest, is a living monument for Black lives. The newly planted trees provide shade for visitors, while their custom-designed grilles offer a place to rest, reflect, and honor Black lives lost. Visit both Stone Circle Bench 1 and 2 at Dr. Loesch Family Park and Roxbury Community College! #PublicArt #EnvironmentalJustice #EarthMonth

We’re thrilled to see Triennial Executive Director Kate Gilbert ranked #58 on @bostonmagazine 's 150 Most Influential Bostonians of 2026. From founding The Triennial (formerly Now + There) to leading Boston’s first citywide public art exhibition—spanning neighborhoods, artists, and communities across the city—Kate has helped expand what public art can be and who it’s for. This recognition reflects the artists, partners, and communities who make the work possible. As Boston Magazine writes, together we’re "putting Boston on the contemporary-art-world map". Public art 🤝 Mother Earth. In honor of Earth Day, we’re looking back at some past planet-friendly projects: Oscar Tuazon's “Growth Rings”, three portal-like structures, offered a moment of grounding and helped connect Bostonians with the greenery in their city. “Unless” by artist Stephanie Cardon repurposed netting from Boston-area construction sites and created 30 paid jobs. Sarah Brophy’s Accelerator-funded project, “Climate Monsters”, taught children about climate change through an illustrated narrative, augmented reality, and a viewfinder. #EarthDay #Sustainability #PublicArt

The stats are in and it's clear that public art can make Boston a more open, equitable, and vibrant city. Through TDC’s impact evaluation of Triennial 2025, we’re able to see both the social AND economic effect of Boston’s first citywide public art exhibition. Want to learn more? In response to Hyde Park's decreasing tree canopy, Accelerator artist Jane Marsching is taking action through public art. “Part of my project is trying to shine a spotlight on these overlooked aspects of the natural world that are present in our everyday lives,” Marsching said. Through community engagement, education, and tree plantings, Marsching’s project will foster a deeper understanding between all of Boston’s residents—including those that grow from the ground. Read our latest Journal post to learn more about the artist, her upcoming project, and how you can gain a deeper connection with the trees we live amongst. #PublicArt #BostonArtist #TreeCare

Temporary doesn’t mean fleeting— and now we have the numbers, stories, and independent analysis to prove it. As we release our Triennial 2025 impact report, we’re starting with the most important part: you! 51,000 of you showed us that you believe in the power of public art by intentionally seeking out Triennial artworks and programs. As that number grows, we're taking the lessons you taught us into this year’s public programming, next year's art projects, Triennial 2028 and beyond. To learn more about Triennial 2025’s impact on Boston, read the report at the link in our bio! #PublicArt #BostonNonprofit
