This year’s Boston University Graphic Design MFA Thesis Exhibition, hyper.txt, takes its title from a file extension—plain text, unstyled, foundational—while also pointing to hypertext and the logic of linking, where ideas branch, connect, and unfold laterally rather than in sequence.
That tension between simplicity and intensity became a framework for the exhibition. The work of twenty-three designers is presented not as isolated pieces, but as part of a larger, interconnected system where projects intersect, reference, and build on one another.
That thinking extends into the installation itself. Poster tubes are used not just as containers but as a recurring structural element, while a system of 3D-printed connectors supports a modular display that allows the exhibition to expand and link across the space.
Reception tonight, April 3, 5–7 PM.
