Matt and I have always loved ‘Best Of Friends’, a record that’s stayed with us since it first came out.
We’re excited to now welcome &Co. to A Quiet Village
The project brings together @olsonstuff , @paultbythesea and @alberto_bof , three distinct voices shaping a cinematic, dubby Balearic sound.
‘Liquor Run’ came together slowly, built across short sessions and shared between Los Angeles and New York. What started as fragments quietly circulated for years before finding its final form — now landing with real attitude, driven by heavy dub techniques and searing rock guitar, a kind of psychedelic disco experiment
‘Lean Like a Cello’ followed its own path — begun together, finished apart, and rediscovered nearly a decade later, carrying a spirit not unlike West End Girls.

Pan Wangshu in Hangzhou for Apartamento Magazine
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with me I had so much fun getting to know you! We hung around the studio and talked about feelings and perspective, the next day we ran around Hangzhou in the bamboo forest and rice fields. My favorite part was getting noodles and soup on this narrow street with little plastic chairs, probably the best meal l’ve ever had. I would find these places I thought looked interesting and placed Pan in the middle of the scene and she somehow knew my style already, Pan kept joking she knew I would take this photo
