Arthur Russell was a true pioneer of electronic music, moving fluidly between avant-garde composition, proto-house, leftfield disco, folk, country and dub without ever settling into one fixed sound.
Whether shaping the early New York loft party scene through Dinosaur L and proto-house cameos like “Is It All Over My Face,” the raw, emotional minimalism on World of Echo, or crafting the drum machine-laced dance-country-pop he is perhaps best known for, Russell always followed his own instinct.
The constant throughout his work was a restless, intimate vision that still echoes through dance music, and he is cited as an influence by many contemporary artists today.

We wanted this Christmas party to be a celebration of everyone that has made it happen. Model and Movers staff alongside a roster of some of our closest friends and collaborators, playing our hearts out for the punters that make it all possible.
There's no paid tickets for this event, all we ask is that attendees bring some food or some clothes for our Christmas donation to Emmanuel House.
