As the 2025 festival season nears a close and the nasty weather starts to settle in, I just wanted to take a moment to talk about what a year we've had. I'm so proud of the crew we've managed to build - good, honest people who show up on time, do the job to the best of their ability, but most importantly always bring a huge sense of fun along with them! Without you, MAS is nothing. I'm confident we're on track to build the best crew in Sheffield, and it feels like a real family. It's been a rollercoaster of a year, with us losing nearly all of our equipment from a van break in earlier in the year and not receiving an insurance payout. In a way, this might have been the best thing that happened to me, forcing me to look further afield for work with larger companies, spring boarding me onto much larger gigs where every minute is a learning experience. Lots of big stuff has happened: I let go of the first speakers I ever built when I was 14, with the brand new EVO2s watching over the deal behind me. That was a sentimental moment, but what a way to symbolise six years of work! Another highlight was working at Creamfields this year with @22liveuk . It's quite astonishing to watch 15,000 people having an amazing time on a system you've helped rig, and I had an awesome time meeting one of the best crews I've ever worked in. What else? @themodel.ng in Nottingham. We helped them out by installing their DIY system - designing custom flyware, overhauling the system processing and installing the lot into a very tricky building. The result is amazing, and it's definitely one of my favourite clubs in the UK. We then had the most amazing time out at @fitf_wales , deploying a huge system of @funktiononeofficial speakers. It was an amazing week, not least for the being with two legends of the sound game, @bosunsound and @bassfreight . Most recently, we've been installing a huge @martinaudio system into a 3,500 square meter warehouse in Sheffield, and I was able to offer a work placement to a student from @sheffcol . There's been lows, but we're definitely on a high right now. Thanks to all the crew and our amazing clients - I love you all so much!!! Ben x

FUNK IN THE FOREST 2025 What a weekend. Amazing location, amazing people, and incredible DJs. It was an absolute honour to power The Sett stage with our brand new @funktiononeofficial EVO 2s. We partnered these with 6x F121 subwoofers from the legend that is Chris from @audio_boost , as well as one of our F1201.2s as an all important centre fill. The result was an insanely detailed and weighty system. Bass coverage was even and impactful across the entirety of the dance floor, and the mid-highs were immediate, crisp and exciting. The width of the EVO 2s created an incredible stereo image, with certain sounds appearing to wrap around your head in an incredibly immersive way. Where there's lots of sub, there should also be lots of everything else - that's why we rigged a @funktiononeofficial F1201.2 directly above the sub array to fill in the gaps and provide even coverage across the front row. This was the MVP of the whole system! We really did smash this one, and it was such a pleasure to share the weekend with some awesome artists, event organisers and punters. A huge shout out goes to @sound_services and @limelightps for rigging equipment hire, and of course @audio_boost for the extra subs! What was most satisfying, however, was spending the weekend with our amazing crew as well as two other awesome audio crews. Big ups to @bassfreight and @bosunsound , you guys made it as special and funny as it was. Roll on @fitf_wales 2026!

A quick look at our @funktiononeofficial sound system design for @fitf_wales 's second stage, The Sett. We deployed our brand new Funktion-One EVO 2 loudspeakers, coupled with a meaty mono stack of six F121 21" subwoofers. The star of the show was our F1201.2 centre fill, keeping the tonality even right up to the front of the dance floor, as well as allowing us to distance the main speakers out a little more, which in turn helped to provide some insanely moreish stereo imaging. I made use of @funktiononeofficial 's new Projection software to accurately predict the coverage of the system, allowing us to make precise adjustments to provide even coverage across the whole of the dance floor. As with all larger productions, there's a whole team behind what you see and hear - they shouldn't go unnoticed! A massive shout out to all of our crew for working hard, and there's a few mentions which need to happen: Firstly, @bosunsound for helping with van logistics in the eleventh hour after we suffered problems with our van taking us off the road. Secondly, @audio_boost for the extra subs. They were phat! Also a huge thanks to Limelight and @sound_services for the rigging equipment cross hire.
