Black Study: The Influence of David Walker’s Appeal ✷ $15 ✷ A special limited-edition risograph print version will be available exclusively @blackzinefair on May 9th. ✷ Black Study situates study as an act of remembrance and revolt. In 1829, David Walker published An Appeal to the Coloured Citizens of the World, a subversive pamphlet calling for enslaved Black people to revolt. His words inspired Nat Turner’s Rebellion and shaped future abolitionist movements. zine for @thebcrw ’s 50th anniversary of the scholar & feminist conference on feb 27–28, 2026. printed on aqua blue paper in black ink by @luckyrisograph . this zine is an attempt to honor not only the content of the conference but the unseen labor of those who plan it—the typewritten letters, memos, and marginalia that make such gatherings possible. its cover features art type of a group of people encircled in conversation based on illustrations by Miriam Klein Stahl—a small study in gathering, touch, and attention. made in collaboration with bcrw’s archives & archivist Margot Kotler, in dialogue with the work of Black feminist predecessors Hortense Spillers, June Jordan, and Quandra Prettyman. a small artifact of “fifty years of meeting the moment,” with a keynote by Judith Butler + performance by Toshi Reagon—carrying knowledge across past, present, and future generations.

📮 Red Channels 📮 $12 ✷ link on profile During the Red Scare, Black women performers like Hazel Scott, Fredi Washington, Lena Horne, and Shirley Graham were especially vulnerable to the Hollywood blacklist, which targeted artists on the left and deepened existing racial exclusions in the industry. in july 2022, i was invited to participate in my favorite residency of all time, EUREKA! i extended my invitation to my friends and collaborators Sam Griffith (@sam_seurynck ) and Gabrielle Octavia Rucker (@gogogogogab ) who spent a week lounging, cooking, eating well, sculpting, plotting, silk screening, photo documenting, zine making, chatting, reminiscing, being present, looking forward, sims playing! i learned new things, i experimented with different mediums, played with the cutest black lab ever, met the funniest farm animals, participated in the women's studio workshop upstate art book fair @wsworkshop @upstateartweekend , and most importantly went to bed early and slept in often!!! i’ll never forget the beauty and joy i experienced in the sun room. thank you to Sam, Eden, and Lucy of @eureka_mindspace for being political accomplices and radical publishers who make aesthetic inquiry, rest and creation even more of a possibility for the people who find it increasingly inaccessible to do so. special thank you to my dear comrade and collaborator @woolandbrick for recommending me <3

Sul Sul was created over a two-week period (2022 July 11-24th) in which the creators were in residence at the Eureka Artist Residency (@eureka_mindpsace ) in Kingston, NY. Restorative and slow in its content, Sul Sul is about rest, relaxation, (game)play, silliness, experimentation and general nerding out.
