[2/2] Flores is a (fictional) conceptual brand campaign that’s worldbuilding focused, based on the concept “girl’s trip to the middle of nowhere.” For the GIF, I designed/collected detailed ephemera that could be found in the fictional small town Flores, Texas, and tells a story of someone’s stay there. This small-town concept lends itself to the larger company, Flores, a fashion brand promoting its FW24 show. I really wanted to challenge myself and try out photography for the first time and used largely my own photos throughout the project. Slides 3 and on are some of my favorite photos I took. Shoutout to @dream_win_live and @_secure_the_mag_ for all your help as I struggled to learn how to work a camera lol

From Beyond reinterprets and aggregates selected text and graphics I found on an extremist religious website. Largely inspired by my (growing) collection of religious pamphlets/tracts/etc, some of which are pictured on the last slide! A cursory look at conspiracy, extremism, religious fanaticism, and the nonsensical 4.25 x 5.5, accordion fold

control - this website is a... (2024) was my first stab at an experimental site "that reflects on agency, control, and change within digital space." the site itself is a variable paragraph that acts as a controller for the site's stylesheet made using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery #handmadeweb

spreads from a draft of a recent (for now, untitled) publication! experimenting with columns and grids (or the occasional lack of) This book is a republishing of insightful excerpts from 6 authors’ essays on artificial intelligence, all with different backgrounds and fields of expertise. My use of many authors’ works and the process of synthesizing them into one body of writing hopes to highlight varying voices and perspectives on AI. Their works, in turn, also supplement and replace my voice while still reflecting my research and opinions on this topic. Thoughts of my own are dispersed throughout, but I want the focus to be on all of our voices as one collective. If, at times, the tetris-like organization of excerpts feels like a cacophony of voices instead of one unified essay, that is a natural awkwardness of how I structured this publication, but it is not unintentional! By conjoining these texts, I hoped to create a dialogue where these separate yet related works “speak” all at once and form a larger conversation about AI and its implications. #bookdesign  #graphicdesign #editorialdesign #typography #VCU #vcuarts #vcuartsgraphicdesign

Emily is Sending You a Postcard - Two postcard concepts based on an interview with a classmate, Emily. The first card functions as an informational map of all we discussed during our hour-long interview, and the second concept is a visual (and customizable!) representation of some of Emily’s interests, with gaming being the main inspiration. Stickers were also packaged with the postcard, intended to allow her to decorate her foldable Nintendo-DS-shaped postcard with stickers relating to some of her other interests and passions. At the end, you can also see the postcard I wrote/decorated for Emily 5.5 x 3.5in, Cardstock #postcards #vcuarts #vcuartsgraphicdesign #graphicdesign
