It’s been a while… Just wanted to say a big Hi! For those who have recently joined in my journey, here’s a little about me. Hi I’m Neera, I print with Indian woodblocks and also screenprint. I see my work as a celebration of craft & printmaking which is rich in tradition and culture. I design my blocks at my home in London, but it is the incredible skills of the carvers in India that bring my designs to life. My work celebrates my Indian heritage and ancestry, a connection to the past as well as creating threads from the present to the future. I work from my studio @chiswick_house a space I am slowly adapting to my practice. Surrounded by nature and inspiration, grateful to have this space and community. Many of you have attended my workshops. They too are a celebration of all the elements that are at the core of my work. Connection, Education, feeding curiosity, experimenting, creating & celebrating joy in colour and pattern. Most importantly shining a spotlight on the incredibly skilled carvers in India. Sharing this craft through workshops has been such a wholesome experience. Watching people connect to craft, to engage and be curious about printmaking, learn a little about the history and above all create and find joy, fundamental in my practice. I’m grateful for the many opportunities to work with museums, galleries, communities and individuals in making this craft more accessible. Hoping to see you at a future workshop. Works on handmade papers & fabric can be purchased direct from me. Commissions are welcome. Thank you for joining me on my journey! #indianwoodblock #blockprinting#indianblockprint #neerasehgal#blockprinted#indainheritage#indianancestry#contemporyart#heritagecraft#artworkshops

Pomegranate Blessings Indian woodblock & Oak/walnut ink on Somerset ➡️ for closeups and a slide of close up of new work pomegranates & roses. Reach out for commissions & purchases. Find a selection of framed works @myloart It’s been a busy couple of weeks. But feeling blessed to have had a full house for a few days, adult kids coming and going whilst youngest ploughs through her GCSE’s Pomegranates represent abundance, for me ‘of love’ Embarking on a series of portraits, inspired by our visit last year to Frida Kahlo’s Home, La Casa Azul, in Mexico City, full of symbolism and colour. Wishing you all an abundance of love and some sweet pomegranates. ❤️😘 #blockprintart#neerasehgal#indianblockprint#woodblockprint#indianheritage#heritagecraft#indianwoodblock

Lately in the studio & beyond. It’s been a full couple of months. Not complaining. Doing what I love and loving what I do. A huge thanks to each of you for the projects, the collaborations, embracing woodblock printing workshops and being curious about this craft, it’s process & artistry. Elevating this craft beyond the surface, engaging in process and understanding the layers, helps appreciate and value the skills of the people at the core of this beautiful craft; the dyers, printmakers and carvers. Running a full days workshop with @williammorrissocietyuk during @londoncraftweek was a beautiful mergence of cultures, history, ideas and human craft. With each month, I’m finding more joy in my practice. Connection, sharing and elevating how we engage in printmaking with hand carved Indian woodblocks. Grateful for all the opportunities. Please do join me for one of my workshops or reach out for any studio based projects/collaborations or custom block designs. Recent projects, thank you @chiswickpots @pripri.co.uk @eastindiacompanydrama @williammorrissocietyuk @britishmuseum Have a lovely weekend. #indianwoodblockprinting #indianblockprint#southasianart#printmaking#blockprint#workshops#williammorris#neerasehgal#neerscreenprints#indianart#heritagecrafts
