Last night marked a momentous achievement for Earls Court. Kensington & Chelsea’s Planning Committee has resolved to grant permission for its part of the masterplan, following Hammersmith & Fulham’s approval last month. This paves the way for a £10bn transformation into a new climate-resilient district for Central London. Over four years, we have worked closely with local residents, community groups and partners to shape an ambitious and inclusive future for this important site. Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this point. Our focus now turns to delivery. As we head into 2026, we will be working with public and private sector partners to bring forward the first homes, cultural spaces and major public realm at pace. #EarlsCourt #DiscoverWonder

Last night, @hfcouncil ’s Planning Committee unanimously resolved to grant permission for the Hybrid Planning Application in their borough for development of the former Earls Court Exhibition Centres – a major milestone for a project that’s one of London’s most significant development opportunities and a reflection of years of partnership with residents, community groups, businesses and local leaders. We’re creating an inclusive new neighbourhood for West London: • c.4,000 homes • 12,000 jobs • Three new cultural venues • 20 acres of public realm and green space • 2.5m sq ft of workspace powering climate innovation Design excellence is at the heart of the plans. The first affordable homes in LBHF have been designed by Stirling Prize winning architects, and our award-winning Public Realm Inclusivity Panel has helped set a new benchmark for inclusive, accessible public space and social impact. Thank you to everyone who has shaped the proposals and to LBHF for its careful consideration. We now look ahead to the RBKC committee next month. Subject to approvals in both boroughs, we’re ready to move quickly into delivering the first phase. A huge thank you also goes out to our consultants for their tireless work alongside the ECDC team in shaping the strongest possible proposals for those who live, work and visit Hammersmith & Fulham. #EarlsCourt #DiscoverWonder

After four years of consultation, collaboration and conversations with local communities and stakeholders, we’re proud to unveil our ambitious plans for Earls Court. Our 44 acre masterplan will come alive with music, arts and entertainment. The long empty site will be transformed as a new neighbourhood with c.4,000 new homes set among 20 acres of new public open and green space, while reinstating its position as a destination for wonder. It will echo its legacy as a hub of innovation and entertainment, be a showcase for clean and climate tech with 2.5 million sq ft of workspace, and a new cultural ecosystem for London with three new anchor venues. All will be supported by a zero carbon energy network and a zero operational carbon target setting new standards, globally, for sustainable development. The vision for Earls Court, as place to discover wonder, is guided by four place pillars that underpin everything we do: nature, innovation, culture and neighbourhood. #earlscourt #discoverwonder

Exactly a year after our first visit to the Earls Court site, we returned yesterday to hear about the many exciting developments that have taken place since. This follow‑up visit offered a valuable opportunity to see how the project has progressed - including securing resolution to grant planning permission from both Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea Councils in late 2025. It was particularly fascinating to learn about the extensive inclusive engagement that has shaped the process. The trust and relationships built with the site team are a reminder of how meaningful engagement can make the difference between securing a major planning approval or not. The Earls Court project is also designing with the future firmly in mind, one where warmer temperatures and droughts are likely realities, placing sustainability and innovation at the heart of the masterplan. After an insightful discussion around the site models, we headed to the viewing platform to see the site first‑hand and understand some of the many constraints and opportunities at play. Visits like these are not only interesting, but essential in bringing large‑scale masterplans to life. The Earls Court Development Company has hosted numerous sessions for D&I groups across the built environment sector, and we’re grateful to Laurence Neal, Georgina Makin-Smith and Jamie Hodge for once again sharing their time and passion. We look forward to watching this project evolve over the coming years - and perhaps returning for a third visit in the future. Thank you to all those who joined us from companies including: Grayling Planning & Infrastructure, Montagu Evans, Compass MEP, Brent Council, Volterra Partners LLP, CDM Stravitec, Stanton Williams, Savills, Amdok - Marketing Digital, and more.

Last summer, local resident, Annette Fernando was the Artist in Residence at the Earls Court Community Hub, digging deep into the archives and unearthing old maps, vintage postcards and stories that once took place here. 📜 One of the most extraordinary discoveries was a massive Ferris wheel that once dominated the Earls Court skyline! Together with her weekly community art class, Annette created 44 brand new postcards of Earls Court, blending historic stories with the exciting new chapter unfolding here today. The hope? That in a hundred years, someone stumbles across one and feels that same spark of connection, a thread running from our community today all the way into the London of the future. ✉️🌍 #EarlsCourt #ArtistInResidence #CommunityArt #London #DiscoverWonder
